I’ll go find all the people that should care about this…

And I love college baseball.

not even in the same Galaxy as Kansas. Rutgers is also worse than Colorado.

Kansas went to a bow game last year. Rutgers has won 12 games in the 3 years of Schiano’s return.

Colorado has won 9 games in those 3 years and last made a non-covid bowl game in 2016

You're a senior on a bad team that has no postseason hopes and you don't get a lot of playing time. You have a nice job offer waiting for you, but now instead of baseball season wrapping up 2-3 weeks after graduation, now you're still playing ball 2 months after graduation and have to delay the start of your job until baseball is done.

This is when the coach has to pull that dude in his office and have a conversation. Some just have to be Myles Brennan

College baseball needs to be moved the start of the season back a month in a half.

So what happens when the Pirates draft Paul Skenes #1 overall and a stipulation of his signing bonus is he has to stop playing college baseball immediately while LSU is getting ready to start the regionals?

They had the draft during the postseason for the longest time yet no MLB organization forced any kid to sit out

Literally only USC (barely) and Arizona State. That is absolutely it.

They also weren't paying #1 overall draft picks $9M signing bonuses back then. Considering how many pitches ace college pitchers throw in the college baseball tournament, especially the ones who go deep in the College World Series, there's no fricking way a major league organization would ever let a guy keep pitching for his college team after the draft.

Yep.

No baseball program.

Imagine how desperate the Big 12 is.

It's either be the predator or be the prey. If they don't poach the PAC12 they will get poached themselves. Plus the PAC 12 is on the ropes atm

Colorado still has decent name value nationally and a big market. They were a schizo football program in the big 8/12 which pulled some monumental upsets.

As far as college baseball it will always be more of a southern thing. California has solid programs but no one there cares. There are some exceptions like ND who seem somewhat committed to a successful program.

Baseball in northern Colorado in February and March might be a lot of fun to watch though Lol.

Colorado is moving to a better conference than the one they're leaving so I'd say the PAC12 is taking the bigger L right now.

Getting CU to the Big12 was lighting the fuse to the dynamite. The PAC could very well collapse now with other schools fleeing. It sucks, but the PAC tried to do the same thing to the Big12 a couple of years back.
The Colorado Front Range is growing, and that’ll increase the TV footprint for the Big12.

I think Colorado will be a much better program once they start recruiting Texas and the Midwest again

Well, CU won't be getting many recruits from St Louis, KC, OKC, Tulsa, etc. I don't think their recruiting from TX will be too impressive either, it will be whatever scraps are left over from the SEC schools who are recruiting in TX.

The landscape of college sports will be so different in 20 years, hell maybe 10.
