and missed the playoffs with a loaded roster.
And Brady thanks Jesus every day that happen with the pats at 11-5

That team had a very good chance to win the entire thing and instead they are one of the only teams in nfl history to miss the playoffs at 11-5

Vince Lombardi died 55 years ago, has he been forgotten too?

Lombardi didn't win a Super Bowl without Starr.
Noll didn't win without Bradshaw.
Landy didn't win without Staubach.
Walsh didn't win without Montana.
Johnson didn't win without Aikman.
Shanahan didn't win without Elway.
Coughlin didn't win without Manning.
Reid didn't win without Mahomes.

Does this mean Gibbs is the best coach ever? In 10 years we won't remember Bill at UNC unless we are UNC fans.

Bill Belichick not giving a single frick about ruining his legacy is actually the most Bill Belichick thing of all time.

It’ll be the equivalent of the time Emmitt Smith spent playing for the Cardinals.

Again, there's really no argument here. Look what Brady did without him.

Go 11-5 and not win his division in the regular season just like Belichick (when in his coaching prime) did with Cassel in 2008?

Tom Brady is both the greatest and luckiest QB in NFL history.

Thats actually a great point

Brady could have just as easily “missed the playoffs” with Tampa that year

It was 100% luck they made the playoffs and the pats didn’t when they went 11-5

No, this will wash over eventually, and it will be like Emmitt Smith finishing with the Cardinals or Jimmy Johnson with the Dolphins

His legacy is Brady. Look what Brady did without him. Took a completely irrelevant team since 2003 and won the SB.

Bill has done nothing without Tom.

I think Bill is a great CEO and probably just a decent coach, and there is a difference IMO. Between him and Kraft in New England they created a machine. It had to have Brady to run obviously, but you didn't see teams with Brees or Manning or anybody else doing what they did in New England.

I'd argue the Saints were doing what New England was doing in the regular season, at least for that final stretch of Brees' career.

The Saints just had the unfortunate luck of being on the wrong side of plays/calls in playoffs and the Patriots had the good luck of being on the right side of plays/calls in playoffs.

No. In 10 years his college stint will be a barely remembered footnote.

Belichick’s ego is the size of Montana. He feels invincible. And that will be his downfall, like so many others.

Last SB was also because of the defense with the final score being 13-3. But of course SB prior to that Brady lost a shootout to the Eagles despite 500+ yards

His legacy is Tom's legacy. He has none without Tom.
