that’s why that clause is in there. That was Cincys path to the 1 with a win over Buffalo.

So where is the confusion here? Because it sounds like you understand Cincy had a path to the 1 in a 17 game schedule, but it also sounds like you think it's logical that the only scenario where Cincy gets to play at a neutral site is if both KC and Buffalo lose in Week 18.

If Cincy beats Buffalo, a Buffalo loss in Week 18 isn't necessary for Cincy go get to the 1. If Cincy loses to Buffalo, they can't get to the 1 OR the 2, so again, the Buffalo/NE outcome is irrelevant to Cincy's playoff seeding.

Cincy's only path to a neutral site game against KC is based on another team losing that wouldn't even be involved in that matchup, even if KC loses and Cincy wins in Week 18.

If they are going to cancel that game and base these neutral site scenarios on those conditions, then all outcomes of the Bills/Bengals game should be considered, along with the outcomes of the Week 18 games.

Yeah, if Buffalo and Cincy win, and KC loses, Buffalo is 13-3, Cincy 12-4, and KC 13-4. Buffalo gets gifted the 1 seed and Cincy has to go to Buffalo if it's Cincy/Buffalo for the AFC Title because guess what--the only scenario for Cincy to get a Neutral site game requires Bills/Chiefs to lose.

Dumb.

Yep, just looked at the actual rules, only way Bengals get neutral field is both KC and Bills lose.

That’s wild. If Cincinnati had beat Buffalo last week and then this week if KC loses and both Buffalo and Cincinnati win, the Bengals would have been the #1 seed considering they would have been 2-0 against the teams tied at 13-4.

Atlanta or Detroit would make the most sense then, which means the NFL will probably put it in Glendale.

The Bengals needed the Chiefs to lose. If the Chiefs don't lose this weekend, there was and is no chance of the Bengals getting the 1 seed.

I understand that. But if they do lose and Buffalo wins, Cincy would have been the 1 seed with a win over Buffalo, assuming they beat Baltimore this weekend. For them not get the neutral site game if KC loses and Buffalo wins seems poorly thought out.

The NFL has reached out to Allegiant Stadium.

Did they book that mid-October? What would they have done if the Colts wound up hosting?

A tight turn using far less hotel rooms as the home host

Game needs to be outdoors

Not a neutral site game

Neutral site requires casual neutral fans to show up. Casual fans aren’t going into unpredictable winter weather

Why would the NFL say no to a game that will likely bring a packed house? For a volleyball tournament poised to bring in 1/2 that maybe?

The NFL can’t just buy this out?

Why buy it out when you can get someone else to do it? I doubt the nfl itself really gives a shite where the game is

I think it's more about Indy being ready for the event.

I'm guessing Vegas, Atlanta, or Detroit could be ready if nothing else is going on in those stadiums.

This decision is a hoax so the NFL can get cities to pay it to host the conference title game in the future.

It's going to be hilarious when the AFC title game ends up in Cincy, Buffalo, or KC anyway.

Atlanta would be such a shitty pick for the fans of those teams.

A division rival's stadium (for Chiefs) would be a shite decision. Then again, it's the same league that thought making the Saints play a "home" game vs the Giants in Giants Stadium was fair.

You're probably right.

Why? A cold-weather team and it's fans getting to come to a warm-weather city and a domed stadium? They should jump at it
