I think prime Mike Tyson would have thrived in UFC, with no ground game.

He was so aggressive, fast and strong. Its harder than you think to take down a guy like that without getting KO'd.

Mike was a street brawler at heart. I think i would destroy the compitition in ufc!

Boxers have the best hand techniques and the best footwork. I have seen high-ranking UFC competitors awkwardly lunge while throwing punches, leaving them open for a Tyson uppercut. No need for a ground game.

absolutely. Dude wouldve been naturally difficult to take down with his stature.
that being said a guy like Jon Jones wouldve still been a matchup issue because of his ability to trip in the clinch.

This is dumb. There’s been numerous accounts of boxers fighting in ufc and they immediately get taken down and submitted. See James Toney vs randy couture. Not saying Mike couldn’t train to defend that and be successful but he’s not about to just walk in there and win with just boxing

There are a ton of successful HW mma guys with very little ground game. Just need takedown defense. He’s such an animal that he’d have developed enough of one to be good.
Imagine the shite he’d have done though. Eye pokes. Glove grabs. Fence grabs. Kneeing downed opponents. He’d go nuts lol

The legend that is Mike Tyson continues. He is the baddest man that ever walked the face of the earth. All of the heavyweight champions past tremble at the very mention of his name. MMA fighters thank God every day that they never had to face him.

IMO, I don’t think one can be a dominant UFC,MMA champion by only possessing one dimensional boxing skills. A fighter who has mastered all skills, including BJJ would likely beat the boxer by submission.
Tyson came out swinging heymakers at the opening bell and beat most of his opponents through fear. Competing for or defending his UFC MMA title belt, Tyson would likely match up with a fighter who has the skills comparable to Royce Gracie, who would. expose Tyson’s weaknesses and defeat him.
Rhonda Roussey was pretty one dimensional, and she was exposed by Holly Holm and was never the same.

The longer the match went on the more frustrated he’d have been with it. So he’d have to make quick work of them. It’s just hard to picture it otherwise. So unpredictable what he’d do.

Tyson fanboys are almost as bad as the Bruce Lee ones.

Not saying you aren’t right, but there are 0 examples of a young in prime elite boxer doing this. If people like OMalley and McGregor can be successful, an elite boxer could also with proper training.

Obviously you weren't around for the Mike Tyson v Bruce Lee discussions.

What young elite in prime boxer has ever stepped inside the Octagon?

I wonder why. Elite boxers make WAY more money than ufc fighters, see how much Connor made to box? Why would they go to a sport they have less earning potential to possibly get embarrassed?

He'd be a monster at LHW currently.
outside of Ank there aren't many great grapplers.

Ali would’ve absolutely embarrassed Tyson.
