Pretty weak when Auburn is your toughest game. LSU would go undefeated with that schedule.

This is a real away schedule. If you can gent through this schedule 11-1 you are a legit team. 10-2 is still good

** maybe, Dickert could be gone from wake, Diaz could be gone from Duke so we’ll see

I'd say it depends on a few things.

- Give them credit for Scheduling Auburn. Not their fault they may suck.
- Can Franklin get VT competitive in year 2?
- Does Bachmeier return?
- Does Dickert stay at wake?
- Whose the Clemson coach?

At a glance, i'd say there is nothing to it but there is also a possible situation where it's a tough schedule (for ND's standards).

They scheduled it last year. Auburn hasn't been good this decade.

Where would Bear go? He’s not pro ready whatsoever. I’m sure BYU is taking care of him

A step down

Their top 3 opponents in no order

Auburn
Va Tech
BYU

I don't know that Wake can replicate this season's success, so that's one to watch.

ND should NOT lose any of the other games. I don't see a real top-10 matchup against anybody like they have with Miami now.

Looks like the frontrunner for FSU but if he stays they'll be a tough out for ND

Done a unbelievable job at Wake along with his GM (Schleager)

Auburn had 5 losing seasons in a row when they scheduled them. They scheduled them when they sucked.

Maybe LSU should want to get kicked out of SEC. We could schedule a bunch of bottom half teams , walk into the playoffs, and not have to share any playoff $

Been saying this for years. People whine that ND is independent - "join a conference!!" Why? Seriously, why? Hell, I wish LSU was independent. Make your own schedule. And keep all of the money you earn instead of the socialism way of sharing the money 16 different ways within a conference.

Next year's ND schedule is marginally better. While there are no elite teams, it looks like they also don't have any directional schools. All power conference teams so it's more rigorous on a weekly basis without having several cupcakes mixed in.

Starting next year you only have to go 5-4 in the conference.

Just cancelled and replaced with Illinois. Not a premier opponent, but have been decent the last couple of seasons under Bielema.

That's literally their schedule every year minus 1 game (2 if you count Navy). Let's not act like the top SEC and Big 10 teams don't get to play the conference bottom feeders too.

Not arguing that it is a strong schedule, but the weakness aspect gets overblown.

If LSU could secure a TV deal they would be one of the prime candidates to be independent based on the loyal fanbase. They could line up a ton of home and homes with premier teams. The problem is a TV deal. Their viewership ceiling is high but their floor is a lot lower than ND.
