Who cares about ND recruiting? Has nothing to do with LSU.
ETA: since this was moved to this board I’ll add that rankings only count after NSD. And even then it’s iffy. Go look at our 2019 class and count how many kids ended their careers at LSU.

A lot of those guys were being recruited by him and the rest of the staff when they were on the verge of making the playoffs. It’s easy to play off one bad year when you have a history of success to play off of. Similar to Kelly at LSU.
Also, like it or not, Notre Dame is one of the most well respected and recognizable athletic programs in the country. It’s a name brand that still had a great draw with much of the country.

Kids don’t view things the same way as fans, they all think they will go undefeated where ever they go. They also don’t judge coaches on 6-7 games

Generally kids don’t care about a bad year. Also they’d be like 5th or 6th in SEC in composite talent.
Freeman is a first time HC. That isn’t easy. It’s going to take time for him to learn his way of doing it.

After blowing out UNC and BYU I was this close to forgiving the Marshall loss. Then he goes and loses to Stanford at home
