I mean they already have the midwest locked down. The whole point of taking Maryland and Rutgers was to get into the largest tv markets in the country.

I heard Tickets are going dirt cheap online. It's been a disaster for the big ten telling the entire conference to go frick itself

Didn't already Delaney say last week they weren't going to do this again?

Getting into the market doesn't mean the market will care.

The end game isn’t to sell tickets at a conference tournament

Why would they move from Indianapolis

No idea. I would guess they have large alumni bases along the east coast. Maybe that’s what they were shooting for

Ploy to snag the NYC media market. Obviously it makes more sense in Chicago, Indy, Detroit, Minneapolis, and so forth.

Huge alumni bases in the NE. Huge sporting event in the city that never sleeps. Prime time sporting event on TV. Money will be made.

They’re really trying to entice the Rutgers nation to indulge in some time square Olive Garden and get pounded by 40 by whoever they’re playing

Get pounded by 40? You must not be watching. Rutgers is 2-0 in the B1G Tourney. Beat Minnesota and Indiana.

The afternoon sports talk in Columbus Ohio said you could get tickets for $1.50 for the first two games. One Dollar and Fifty Cents for two games. Everyone here thinks it's stupid to have it there as well.

The SEC Tournament is in St. Louis. The conferences are just trying to get into different markets

Who wants to tap into the St. Louis market? hopefully it’s the first and last time the tourney is held there.

NYC I can understand, but St. Louis for all 20 of the Missouri alum? No thanks.

Having it in NYC isn't the issue to me. It's that the tournament is a week before any of the other major conferences. Now when everyone is watching tourneys next week the B1G won't be on (somewhat like why the conference moved its last regular season cfb game a week later).

Were you mad last year when it was in D.C.? It's close to Maryland but that's it

Jim Delany said he regrets pushing the BTT up a week earlier and it sounds like they will use Chicago/Indianapolis "80 percent" of the time and, I would assume, DC/NYC the other "20 percent."
