Breaking: Jim Harbaugh is leaving Michigan to accept the head coaching job with the Los Angeles Chargers, sources tell ESPN.

The Chargers get their man while the national champions now have a head-coach opening.

Chargers making a homerun hire is bizarre to say the least

That’s too bad. I really wanted him to be the next Hayes/Schembechler. He is totally wasted in the NFL.

he should have told them he’ll take it if they move back to San Diego.

Harbaugh, Sean Payton, Andy Reid

The AFC West might get interesting. Compare the resumé’s of those three coaches with Antonio Pierce.

I mean can you blame him? Why in the hell would any great coach want to deal with the absolute circus that is college football right now

But what about his long term Michigan extension to make him the highest paid coach in college football?

He won a title so he's disqualified from being the next Schembechler.

More importantly, who will be the noteworthy portal names from the Michigan roster?

Michigan will retain their current staff and hire within. Similar to ND, they won’t lose too many because of this

Harbough absolutely played this perfectly. He achieved the ultimate goal in CFB, winning a title. Then he jetted ASAP before Michigan gets hit hard with any upcoming sanctions mn

Harbaugh is pulling a Carroll and fleeing to the NFL before the NCAA drops the hammer.
