Then he jetted ASAP before Michigan gets hit hard with any upcoming sanctions mn

I'd be surprised if they got more than a slap on the wrist now. The NCAA was only trying to chase him off.

I wonder if he's leaving due to the possible NCAA punishment, or if Michigan told him and his agent that his contract demands were stupid and absurd.

I mean can you blame him? Why in the hell would any great coach want to deal with the absolute circus that is college football right now

This is the right answer.

And probably a reason Saban retired.

CFB is just a frickin' headache for coaches now. Not worth the hassle for an MNC...when he can chase a Lombardi.

The top 5 QBs in the NFL all reside in the AFC. Thank god for the Saints.

I’m betting the rumors are true and he’s ready to retire now

Like I sad the other day, Michigan will go from 15 wins to maybe 8.

He has succeeded everywhere he has been. I would think the Chargers would be a contender shortly. Too bad for Michigan but hopefully they make a good hire because frick Ohio State.

Pete Carroll has ZERO national championships at the collegiate level. His only one, 2004, was vacated.

A lot of good points in this thread but I think the biggest surprise is Spanos stepping up to the table to pay him. Haven’t they historically been cheap??

Good for him. He went to three straight NFC championship games with SF and he went to a Superbowl and played 15 years in the NFL. He's an NFL guy.

Harbaugh is a great coach.

Hope he can turn around the Chargers. The Chargers is a soft team. They lost a lot of games near the end of the game when pressure is high. Need to be tough.

I hate the NCAA. A lot of stupid rules. Football should break away from NCAA and run as a professional organization.

Would love to see Mason Graham in the portal. Absolute monster.

Their sophomore class is impressive. Graham, Will Johnson, Loveland, Keon Sabb, Derrick Moore, Kenneth Grant, etc. I'm sure coaches are reaching out

Did they or did they not win the game? And THAT makes them national champions.
