Montana and Young were only successful because of the west coast offense

That’s not a hot take. I wish list isn’t a hot take.

I hope LSU wins March Madness. That’s not a hot take

I’ve said it before, but wrestlers without legs should be disqualified or have their own division because they have an unfair advantage.

it gets balanced out by the fact that, I don’t know, maybe they don’t have fricking legs????

Surrounding talent to match the scheme didn't hurt.

The Giants and Jets should change their names to the New Jersey Giants and New Jersey Jets.

The Chiefs won’t win another super bowl with Mahomes

The bucs gave the blueprints on how to keep him in check

Piping hot take

College playoff should be 8 teams, made of 5 conference champs and 3 wild cards. This would make conference championships more valuable, encourage good OOC matchups, raise interest from areas outside of the southeast, and take most of the power away from the committee, settling everything on the field. Nobody can say they got left out.

Michael Vick would have been unstoppable in the Mike Shanahan offense in his era.

Piggybacking off of this:

Modern coaching has much more to do with offenses shattering records than rule changes. Up until fairly recently, NFL coaches tried to make their players (specifically QBs) fit their predetermined schemes. Putting Vick in offenses that were I formation based and focused on forcing him into being a pocket passer and running as a last result was accepted when he came into the league but is unbelievably stupid in hindsight.

If Vick had come along in this era, where shotgun and spread offenses are more widely accepted and not considered soft or gimmicky in the NFL, he would have been considered an all time great.

Except that blueprint involves Both his OTs being injured and their backups being trash and his recovers dropping big time throws.

Also “getting pressure on the QB” is the blueprint to stopping almost every qb.

Actually doing it is the problem (see OTs being out)

Scheduling weekends around sitting on one's arse watching others play a game where you have no control over the outcome and being emotionally invested in it is foolish.

Deriving your sense of self-worth and pride in your community through a team made up of transient players who don't even know you exist and are ready to hop to the next large contract wherever it may be is ridiculous.

Claiming you are embarrassed by a loss that you only watched is pitiful.

I was asked for a hot take, so I gave one. They have a disproportionate amount of upper body strength compared to other people in their weight class because they don’t have legs which probably bumps them down at least two or three weight classes.
