Montana and it isn't close.

Marino.
He beat the 85 Bears.
Steve Fuller started at QB that game because Jim McMahon was hurt.
When McMahon was finally put in the game, McMahon ran the ball to get Walter Payton his record for most consecutive 100 yard games.
I...along with most Bear fans were passed the Bears had to play New England because we wanted revenge.
As for those who pick Joe Montana...healthy Jim McMahon was 4-1 against Joe Montana.
And we know Montana played on the better team because he has 4 Superbowl rings to McMahon's 2
I picked Marino, because the context was "win one game". The 85 Bears had the most obscene defense I've ever seen, they chewed teams up and spit them out. Jim McMahon was nice, but that team wins the Super Bowl regardless of who plays QB.
If the question was "what defense do you take to win one game", I take the 85 Bears D.
And Marino beat them.

Rodgers, Young, Marino, Montana, and Manning have to be the top 5 in some order.

Yep Elway easy for me.
He lost 60% of his Super Bowls. That’s your easy choice? I’d take Brady or Montana, but even those would not be an easy choice.

I came in to say Montana, expecting Brady to be running away with it. Only read the first page, but I’m pleasantly surprised.

I am happy with all the Montana love in this thread also. Surprised me.

Well Montana was 4-0 in Super Bowls and has the highest passer rating in Super Bowls...
So if that ONE game was a BIG game, then yeah...Montana...his stats actually IMPROVED in the playoffs and Super Bowl over the regular season while Manning's declined dramatically in the playoffs and Super Bowl.

Montana, nobody was better in Super Bowls and the defining moments of those games. His performance in the 1990 Super Bowl is still the gold standard for perfection when it comes to QB play.

I get it’s not really the right answer, but everyone worthy has already been mentioned.
Manning, Eli.
It’s one game, so presuming we’re talking about the Super Bowl, he’s undefeated.
I don’t care that some guy caught the ball on his helmet, Eli still got out of that sack. And they beat one of the greatest (and up to that point undefeated) teams.
He’s 2-0 vs Brady in the Super Bowl. Good enough for me.
