FBS oversight committee admits Michigan should have lost the game

On a philosophical level, who actually gets to decide what the "official" outcome is?
Is is the conference? The refs? The NCAA itself?
According tot heir logic once the result goes "official" there's no changing it, no matter how incorrect it is.
Yeah it's blatantly wrong, but it's "official" now so we can't change it.
Why not? Aren't you the ones who declared it official to begin with? The NCAA vacated and forfeits past results, they are totally in the business of changing results after the fact.
What if a result gets recorded "officially" incorrect by mistake? Like San Jose State loses to Oregon by 40 but someone accidentally records San Jose State the "official" winner. According to their logic that means San Jose State "won" and it can't be changed.

Those replay officials were looking to add time to that game. They weren’t just looking at the replay and seeing if there should be any time left, they were actively trying to find that extra second. That isn’t how things should work. They should be presented with the replay and rule on the question from the refs instead of actively looking for a result. If you search you typically find what you’re looking for.

When a win is vacated, i don’t think the other team is given the win.
Whatever happened to playing games under protest?
Every person from the B1G involved needs to be fired. This causes FAR more damage to the game then trying to play a couple of NFL camp bodies for an extra college season,

Right, but the NCAA has done that in the past too with forfeits. But just the fact that outcomes are officially changeable seems to leave the door open for this.

Puts a spotlight on the stupidity of the LSU situation. More concerned with a kid getting 5th year because he received per diem during 15 days of training camp than the actual outcome of a game.
