Dana’s final Astro’s career rally.

Should be an interesting couple of weeks.

Dumping salary.

Does that signal a huge sell off to rebuild cheaply?

Or is Dana going to try to capture the shitty division title by bringing in someone to help Yordan in the lineup?

Lance will always be an Astro, but hes also one of the most prime examples of modern baseball given his wear and tear. I hope he finds success in the final years of his career and eventually comes back to remain connected to the franchise as a former player.

I think it signals that they’re going to attempt to be buyers, and probably for starting pitching.

Likely clearing the decks for a big time extension for Brice Mathews.

I think it depends on whether they feel Blanco and/or Wesneski can fill that hole. I’m not convinced they have enough to offer to get anybody that would be appreciably better.

On the other hand, there have to be gettable options that would improve the current outfield hitting shitshow. Granted it is a low bar.

ESPN has Jake McCarthy and Dalton Varsho as targets, which means we have zero shot at getting either.

Can’t imagine what they would get back for that. Maybe just a SMALL bag of dicks.

I’d be surprised if they’re counting on either after the last few years of arm surgery recovery. I’d assume Brown wants another starter behind Brown and Lambert while hoping the rest of the staff can at least combine for one decent start a week. Maybe they’ll promote somebody.

I think it’ll be interesting to see what happens with Imai. If Crane is going to spend money on a playoff push I don’t know how you justify keeping Imai as a starter over the next two months.

This has to be your attempt at a Ryno-like post, right?

He’ll try to sign a few mid-tier guys last minute.

They are pretty clearly going to be buyers unless they come out and lose like 12 of 15. You can have your opinion on whether it’s a wise thing to do, but it’s almost certainly what will happen barring a huge collapse in the next couple weeks

So, we get a prospect in return. I'm sure there's another move or moves coming.

Always liked Lance. And if you ever listened to the guy in interviews, he does know his stuff about pitching.

Colton did help us out some last year.
