He has a lot of money on the line. This is the new reality so I'm not saying I blame him. I heard months ago he was unlikely to play this year or his play would be severely restricted.
When high school players treat their senior year the same way a top 10 NFL draft pick treats the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, the entire system is broken.

Royal hasn't played a live snap. Scrimmage or Jamboree.
What could also be reasoning for BM is that, you know what you got in Easton, he’s a beast, so get touches to your other kids and try to develop them because you’ll need them alongside Easton at the business end of the season

I’ve mentioned this elsewhere…but I’ll say it again. I’m convinced that there are countless football players that don’t really care about winning anymore. It’s all about self promotion to get to the next level and secure the bag of cash. The wins and losses don’t mean anything in the quest to get rich. Once you get to the NFL, it’s essentially the same. Get the big contract and coast.
Recently a star running back held out of a semi final game trying to get a better offer......

Does he really need to risk a knee blow up in some meaningless game.
frick his 70+ teammates who work their asses off to WIN games. Football is a team game, but I gots to get mines.
I am sorry but if I had a team mate that held out and was healthy - I would kick his arse.
But in HS baseball "handlers" are telling players not to pitch.....
I've stuck with HS fb a long time because it was the last pure level of the sport, but that is chaning at an alarming rate from this stuff to the violence at games...

My kid cheers for Brother Martin and said the word is that he has mono and that’s why they are resting him.

That could very well be true, and it would be in Royal’s best interest if they informed everyone if that’s the case.

Don’t even get me started on this explosion in violence at games that we’re seeing.

So this is either true or very convenient but a BM player just gave my son the mono story and said Royal is expected back for the Jesuit game.
I hope he feels better soon. Not sure how this lines up with the BM coach comments just yesterday that it was a coaches decision to not play him.

His “ camp” probably said he isn’t playing

It's not the camp telling him to sit out its whatever school just offered him a bigger NIL deal. They don't want to risk him getting hurt in meaningless high school games.
