Except one of the reasons why he's good at his job is because he's on good terms with the agents of these players.

I remember several years back, I was driving the family to Orlando for a Disney week vacation. Caught a flat on the driver’s side on I-10 Eastbound shortly after getting past the Basin Bridge, before Port Allen.

Pulled over to the right shoulder, as much as I could get on the grass but keeping driver’s side on pavement for the jack.

By far the longest it’s ever taken me to change a flat. I was shaking the whole damn time afraid some unattentive idiot driver would crash into the vehicle and me. I had wife and kids stand way off to the side in the grass, and took our luggage out the back on put it about 50 feet behind the vehicle hoping drivers would see that and at least slow down.

Of course, people are assholes, so while some would slow and even move over if they could, others flew down the right lane still at 70-80 mph.

Thats Haskins biography & I don't feel Schefter meant any harm .

I love Magic Johnson, but " retired due to hiv " is part of his biography & not an insult. Grambling coach Hue Jackson " ex Browns coach with a 3-36 NFL record".

So tragic.

I remember what a great prospect Haskins was in HS with that cannon arm/tight spiral and wanted him to go to LSU. But when he didn't, I was glad it wasn't to another SEC team. So from a distance, I rooted for him to win the OSU QB job (which he did and evenually threw for 50 tds and became a Heisman finalist, then 1st Round NFL Draft pick).

I didn't know the butterfly effect of Haskins winning the OSU qb battle would force future Heisman winner Joe Burrow to transfer to LSU and change LSUs fortunes. So my Haskins history will always be locked to LSU & Burrow. RIP Dwayne.

ESPN said (not confirmed) they believe his car and another car hit each other, he pulled over and got out to look at the damage/talk to the other driver, then got hit by a different car.

Damn that’s awful. Final destination type shite

Kind of off topic, but i was driving back from Siesta Key to NOLA a couple years back , north on I75 somewhere between Tampa and Gainesville , and a private plane emergency landed on the neutral ground (or median as they insisted on calling it) of the interstate.. other than the fact that i sat on the interstate like a parking lot for over an hour, it was pretty cool to see an airplane on the interstate once i got up to it .

But now I kinda feel like a dick with this news, he was way too young and had his whole life ahead of him.

No need to feel like a dick. We all criticize athlete performance. It’s what fans do, and it’s part of the mental toughness required of being an athlete. I can compartmentalize his crappiness as an NFL qb. That has nothing to with how tragic his death is.

It’s sad to see any life gone at a young age, and it’s worse when you factor in that it seems like he was doing no wrong.

The Schefter tweet was messed up in my opinion. Then Gil Brandt took it to another level

Here is @Gil_Brandt on NFL radio when asked about Dwayne Haskins.
“He was a guy that was living to be dead.”
“It was always something” with Haskins
“Maybe it he stayed in school a year he wouldn’t do silly things [like] jogging on a highway.” LINK

I'm guessing there's some kind of story behind this. It's unusual for someone to be struck by a car and killed.

Yeah, see these Brandt comments to me are worthy of criticism.. the not-so-perfect Tweet that Shefter deleted is getting the type of blowback that should be only reserved for outlandish comments like Brandt’s .
