Defintely not unwarranted, I agree.

The Sixers need to pull a Deshaun and simply put Simmons on the inactive list every game.
This avoids any issues with the NBA Players Association since making a player inactive is wholly within the rights of the coaching staff. Yes, they have to pay him, but if they try to suspend him each night, eventually some arbitrator will rule in his favor.

Burning a lot of bridges current and future that way, doubly so given his pathetic inability to shoot a round ball at even an average level.

If the 76ers have an asset wasting away it hurts them, the Texans are just happy for the higher pick.

The league wouldn't let the Pelicans sit down AD after he started forcing his way out but Philly is a big market so they might treat them different.

It’s getting harder and harder to trade this loser.

Sources: Doc Rivers asked Ben Simmons to join a defensive drill today. Simmons refused. Rivers asked again. Simmons said no again.
Rivers then told Simmons he should go home, and Simmons dropped the ball and left.
Well at least he finally listened. Progress.

Uh, did you miss what the piece of shite NBA pulled with the Pelicans and Anthony Davis?
All but ended any support I had for the NBA, and then BLM drove the final nail.

The sixers should have gotten rid of him already and get a decent player now nobody is going to want his arse

Simmons was tossed early in practice, essentially for a refusal to participate in the next stage of the session
It was probably a shooting drill.

This is the Player Conduct in CBA It does not say much about participating just attending.
Are there any clauses about conduct detrimental to the team?

sometimes you have to worry about trading someone and then they go somewhere and live up to their potential and end up biting you in that arse....I don't think that's a concern in this case. I mean even if he has stretches where "he guards all 5 guys" has some assists or whatever there is never gonna be a full season where something doesn't upset him and he tanks it all. who would even want him? not making the tournament at Lou was the total red flag. I field of 65 or however many there are now the next stud couldn't even make that field then quit.

Article 26 TEAM RULES
26.1 Establishment of Team Rules.
Each Team may maintain or establish rules with which its players shall comply at all times, whether on or off the playing floor; provided, however, that such rules are in writing, are reasonable, and do not violate the provisions of this Agreement or the Uniform Player Contract.
26.2 Notice.
Any rule(s) established by a Team pursuant to Section 1 above shall be provided to the Players Association prior to the distribution of such rule(s) to that Team’s players.
26.3 Grievances Challenging Team Rules.
The Players Association may file a Grievance challenging the reasonableness of a rule established by a Team pursuant to Section 1 above, and the Team’s imposition of discipline on a player for a violation of such rule, within thirty (30) days from the date upon which the imposition of such discipline on the player became known or reasonably should have become known to the player. No ruling by the Grievance Arbitrator finding a Team rule unreasonable may be applied retroactively as to any player other than the player on whose behalf the Grievance was filed.
That is listed at the very end of CBA...so there has to be posted player conduct by the 76'ers somewhere. I know there is but I will have to find it.

Simmons has turned into an Instagram thot. In the offseason instead of working on his free throws, he was showing off his new cars and sliding into DM's.
Like clockwork, he and Rich Paul release a video of him doing basketball "activities" and Sixers fans get excited thinking that he finally is putting in work, but then the season starts and he gets exposed during Atlanta. I mean frick, I wanted to rip my tv off the wall when he skipped a layup to pass the ball because he was chicken shite.
frick this bum I hope the Sixers can get something for him via a trade.

Not if he keeps acting like a child they won't.
No arbitrator is going to rule in favor of a guy who is actively being a problem at practice by refusing to participate.
