DeMarcus Cousins says Cooper Flagg would get “lost” with Pels due to Saints popularity

And should return to Duke if NOLA gets the #1 pick.

He also said Utah is the perfect place for Flagg: “Utah, you'll be a hero, you'll fit right in, brother.”

Speaking on FanDuel TV's Run It Back show, DeMarcus Cousins had this to say to Flagg:
"Cooper Flagg, go back to Duke or the [Utah] Jazz, brother... [With the] Pelicans, you'll get lost in the sauce with the Saints."
Cousins only spent a season-and-a-half in New Orleans, but he hasn't been shy about sharing his disdain for his time in the Bayou. Regarding the Saints, Cousins is referring to the commonly retread critique that the Benson family, who own both the New Orleans Saints and the Pelicans, are far more concerned with the success of their NFL franchise than their NBA one.

The benson family isn’t concerned with either being a serious franchise

Demarcus still butthurt
didn’t he turn down big guaranteed money to sit and rehab with the Pels, but instead took a vet minimum to sign with Golden State, got forced to play, got injured again being rushed back, and still didn’t get a ring?

Maybe but It won't happen. Cooper Flagg would find out quick how much of a shite show it is.

Remember during Boogie’s tenure Mickey Loomis was both saints GM and Pelicans head of basketball operations . I guess being an executive is a part time job.
Saints popularity isn’t Boogie’s issue. His issue was he feels Pels aren’t a priority to ownership.

This is a pretty common thread from the guys who were here before Gayle took full control/ownership and actually spent some money on staff, facilities, etc.
Cousins is probably the 10th player to make comments about how the Pels had to eat Saints leftovers, fly commercial because the had the private plane, etc.

Dumb because players have to declare for the draft before the lottery occurs. They can’t wait for the lottery results and then nope out because a team they don’t want to play for gets the #1 pick.

It's dumb because nobody reclassifies to leave hs early just so they can stay in college for 2 years but Boogie's an idiot so it's not surprising.

I doubt they actually flew commercial. They may have flown on a private charter of a commercial airline, but that’s a difference. You ain’t going through the TSA line for that.

No star caliber player spends two years in college. You lose a year of veteran pay, that's easily 8 figures.

Is Flagg really expected to be a lottery pick? He seems a lot closer to someone like Tyler Hansbrough than Luka in regards to NBA potential. I just dont see him dominating the NBA with a lot bigger and talented guys.

Is this a serious question?
