I expect him to do exactly what Jimbo did, which was to recruit great skill players while neglecting the lines.

Very doubtful. He will get a bump due to name...

But these guys who were big time stars that are just handed a gig often don't put in the work once they get it. They've never recruited before. They don't understand the grind.

They think they can just walk in and everything will fall into place because they are them. It doesn't work that way.

Exactly Boom, the idiots think that the head coach is god. Deion would load his staff with NFL coaches who have tons of experience and young college coaches for recruiting. Texas and Florida recruits would be all in.

I am not sure if he would be successful or not, I like take a wait and see approach with my coaches. There are some times when it’s obvious a coach can come in and win big, like O here, but in general it is wait and see.

I'd be all for him jumping in as DB coach or something. Jumping into the big chair cold turkey isn't going to make people forget about Willie.

Ok, he’ll “load his staff up” with NFL coaches. First, doubtful. Second, have you seen, or have you had any supervision or management that really helped you excel at something when they have never done, or have any working knowledge of, what you do? Y’all talk about all these “CEO” coaches, they’ve all been coaches and have come up through multiple staffs. They know what it takes. So if Prime comes in hires a staff, and some folks on the staff get lazy on him in recruiting, in game planning, in babysitting the players, how will he really know? He hasn’t been there.

We'll probably never get a chance to see it anyway, but I think you're underestimating how big a name Deion Sanders is in Florida and elsewhere. Dude is beloved.

“Beloved” may get you a recruiting class or two but doesn’t hold up if people think you are screwing up their chances at the NFL.

He may get the #1 class for a year or two but if he underperforms with that talent, he is done as a top tier coach but he may still get dumbasses to pay him elsewhere.

Look at Charlie Weis at ND and how he couldn’t turn a HS player into a college player to save his life.

This could be a disaster.

He’s the OC at a high school in Texas. His son is the QB

He’ll probably get a few players who just want to play for a legend, but generally, elite athletes want to win and move on to the league and there is no indication that Prime can do either of those things for a kid.

Deion is my all time favorite player. Don’t think this would end well but at the same time I thought O was going to be an epic disaster. So it will be an interesting watch nonetheless

Yep. If he surrounds himself with excellent Coordinators, he would do well.

Yeah, ultimately his performance on the field would start to matter, but the hype of Deion at FSU would be a big draw for Florida kids.

This is real, last time the FSU job came open he talked about throwing his name in. He says with the staff and recruiting he could put together he could fix FSU. People don’t pay attention if they think this is some stunt, Deion has been running elite camps and coaching HS for a decade. He knows pretty much every top 150 recruit personally and has guys like Peter Warrick and other ex FSU greats coaching with him all the time. This can work.

Y’all are dumb if you even think this is being considered by FSU.
