Miami is a private school….pretty sure all he would need is NCAA baaaare minimum as an athlete (which is like the ability to spell your name) to be allowed in

Football games are win on the LOS

They’re not won there, but you can’t suck there either. I would take elite offensive skill and an average OL over a great OL and average skill.

Defensively, I would rather have a great front than a great secondary.

ETA: I don’t think Deion will do much at Colorado. He probably will do better than they have recently (hard not to), but I just can’t imagine too many impact players going to a bad program with a totally unproven coach. There’s too much money to be made in the NFL to be fricking around with a coach and program that has no track record of putting players in the league. Plus, you have NIL and it’s difficult to see Colorado going toe to toe with the blue bloods on that front.

I’m sure some naive 18 year olds (intrigued by Prime’s persona and without sound parental guidance) will head to Boulder, but it’s a bad business decision if you’re good enough to have offers from programs like Georgia, Alabama, etc.

Deion will routinely sign the number 1 class at the first big southern school that takes a chance on him

Incoming freshman class doesn't mean instant success

But there will be lofty expectations in years 2 and 3

if high profile recruits aren't going to lsu, i'm quite happy with them picking colorado. keep them away from uga and alabama.

I watch a lot of the behind the scenes stuff his son puts on YouTube and I’m super impressed about how Deion runs things. It’s pretty entertaining to see what goes on. He may put on a show in front of the cameras because he’s building his brand his way, but when it’s time to get down to business, he’s prettt damn stern. I reccomend some of you check out some of the content that’s out there and you can see he’s not just dancing and goofing off 24/7.

If I were a parent, I’d buy into his message.

I mean if I’m a high profile Db/CB I would want Deion as my coach.

I think you have to lower expectations a bit. Colorado isn't in the SEC. They don't have to worry about going toe-to-toe with UGA or Bama on the LOS every Saturday. There's plenty of other coaches who suck on the LOS, but have good skill players. Hell, look at Lincoln Riley, and he's been to the cfb 3 different times.

Absolutely no one is seriously expecting Colorado to compete for a national championship. Absolutely no one expects them to be competitive in a game against UGA right now. But if you're telling me Prime's ceiling at CU is Lincoln Riley. That would be an absolute massive W. Prime would be considered one of the greatest hires in CU history.

So many people will be so mad when he succeeds at Colorado

-Succeeding at Colorado would be winning 3 or 4 games. Nobody is going to get mad if he does that
-Colorado, just like the HBCU team he came from, is pretty much devoid of any talent whatsoever. Just bringing in a blue chiper or two is instantly going to help the team. That doesn't mean shite as to his ability to coach
-He will be able to snag some great recruits simply by saying "I'm deion sanders" and the dads in that living room that grew up wearing his jersey will giggle like schoolgirls and send their kids to paly for him. That'll work for a few years but eventaully he's going to have to prove his meddle as a coach. And as of now there is literally nothing to suggest he's a good coach. Winning at a HBCU with superior talent doesn't mean anything. If he's still going 4-8 3 or 4 yeras in that recruiting pitch won't work so well anymore
-If it's not completely obvious, deion only cares about deion. He's a sideshow. Can you imagine nick saban wearing clothes with "Coach Sabez" embroiderred on the chest? It's laughable! Everything deion does is to bring attentino to him. He woule be an utter and complete disaster at a big boy football school.

All the hate Coach Prime gets is weird to me, and I’m a middle aged white dude with no rhythm who hated him during his days when he’d play against the saints

I’ll be pulling for him and Colorado to win that conference

I think it's the tebow effect. I don't think anyone actually disliked tebow at first. He was a clean cut, hard working, successful kid that did things right and was a fine role model. People eventaully started to hate him when the media shoved him down our throats 24/7 and you couldn't look at a TV without hearing tebowtebowtebowtebow all the time.

If deion just went about his business normally I don't think people would even pay him much attention considering his entire career has been at a lower level no one GAS about and now at a shitty school that hasn't won in decades. But the media continues to make him out to be some huge story, which is only aided by his constant self promotion.

He has charisma and that goes a long way. Couple that with a very successful pro career and knowing what it takes to succeed, you have a potent combination. If you could couple that with Saban's organizational acumen, you have a very effective combination.

The had a 10 win season in the last 10 years. That’s seems to be lost on everyone. It can be done.

The most fun place for him to be, strictly for drama and comedy purposes, would be Texas Longhorns.

I haven’t followed CU closely in years but thought they used to get more Colorado recruits.

I counted 1 amongst their 19 signees as of today.
