The ref definitely fricked up but why did Detroit send 3 linemen up to the ref?

Goff only sent #68. I think #58 walked up to clarify the numbers so there was no confusion between the two.

#70 looked like he ran in late to get them into the huddle because you can see Goff looking over at them, waiting to get going from the aerial view.

What?

The thought was, if #68 is standing there talking to the ref all by his lonesome, it would draw more attention to him from the Dallas defenders.

It worked since Dallas fixated on 58 rather than 68, refs fricked this one up but I think Detroit was hoping for that after the refs informed the Dallas defense who was eligible when they really weren’t.

But cambell said that after the flag was thrown he was told that two players reported and that the flag was thrown because that’s not allowed . Which is wrong

Campbell did not say that

After 2019, nothing about NFL officiating surprises me. The NFL goes to great lengths to protect officials who continually ruin a great product.

It almost has to be intentional, there’s no way professional referees are this incompetent.

Goff:

"Decker reported, Skipper did not and I'll probably get fined for saying this."

Why are NFL players so fricking scared about removing the curtain?

Why are coaches so afraid of Oz? Is it a shell game?

So Campbell was playing 3d chess all game by having Skipper (70) report as being eligible. Then on the play to score they were preparing for, they change it up and have 68 report. The ref’s screwed up and claim it was 70 the same as before. The defense covers 70 and the ref’s assume 70.

Just a bad screw up by the ref’s as said making an assumption.

Moving forward, Campbell and co need to have 3-4 different players check in so as to keep the ref’s on their toes.

Should have asked why would an offensive line player be in the huddle then walk out of the huddle to come over to you amd then walk back to the huddle. It wasn't just number 70 there. 68 was right next to him. Was 70 scared to tell the refs he was eligible and needed 68 to be there for support?

@AdamSchefter

Implications of Detroit's controversial Saturday night loss:

If Detroit had won, it would have secured, at worst, the No. 2 seed in the NFC with another win next week.

If Detroit had won last night and again in Week 18, and if SF lost one game, the Lions would have claimed the NFC’s No. 1 seed.

With Detroit’s loss, it now is expected to be the No. 3 seed and would need significant help to have any chance of moving up.

A potential divisional playoff game against the NFC East winner would have been in Detroit, but now is more than likely going to be an away game if it gets to that point.

Didn't we learn a few years ago the NFL is rigged?

Yes, we did. And this is more evidence to prove the case.

Ref just fricked it up, he missed it and probably thought it was perfectly timed. As bad and off as he was in that thought, that is an infinitely more rational outcome than the ref was rigging the game and did so in the one way to bring the most possible attention to himself.

Unbelievable. I can’t say I’m surprised.

Then why did they call offsides against Dallas on the next 2 point conversion attempt?

Theatrics. They got the ending they wanted.

Campbell did say that. He said he was told 2 players reported as eligible. That was the explanation to him of the flag by the ref.

Nope. People won with the points. The ones that took the money line should be pissed. This shite happens every year. Vegas isn't voiding a bet because the NFL rigged the game.

The ref goes to the defense and tells them which lineman reported, the defense isn't left to guess.

The lions would be the 2 seed right now if the refs didn't frick this up.

You think if a ref is going to fix a game, he'd do it in the most public way possible to bring the most possible attention to himself?
