MLB network just proposed Astros signing Justin Turner and then using Bregman to land Sale. Don't shoot the messenger.

Giving up proven young hitting talent at a premium defensive position for a pitcher is just a bad idea.

I don't trust pitchers to have sustained success. There are too many variables. Hitters are more predictable. A guy like bregman is going to rake and play elite d for 10-12 years at least.

I think the idea that the past two years with less than a stellar rotation and holes in the lineup that the team still won 86 and 84 games means Luhnow would go into the regular season with the starting pitching as is.

That doesn't mean he won't pull the trigger on a big deal for an ace in July IF the team is living up to other expectations.

Exactly. You also see who is actually performing in the market over that 1st half and there may be a wider set of options.

Seems really risky. Of course, I'm thinking pretty greedily right now.

Paulino and/or Martes should be able to help at some point too. Not saying that should keep us from making a deal because I'm really skeptical of our rotation right now, but they're probably counting on that also when thinking about next year's rotation

He only copies/pastes news. He has no clue until he's told he does. Worthless DBag

With Sale joining Red Sox, there's no way our management likes our chances of winning a pennant without adding a big pitcher...

Well this'll be fun.

Going up against Sale, Price and Buchholz in a 3 game set.

Moncada and Bregman were #1-2 prospects last year, so it's similar to them asking us for AB2

I'll be honest. Bregman has exceeded my expectations even when he was the number one prospect.

I think he's a lot more valuable than Moncada. I'm also a huge homer

I am too considering we would've had to give up Bregs

We've got to add a piece to the rotation to be able to even compete with Boston at this point. But the feeling that we are staying put grows stronger each day...

I would think a package of

Tucker, Feliz, and some mid prospects would get us arCher and I think I would do it as much as giving up tucker would suck.

The fact that I think most of us would take that in a heartbeat makes me think the Rays would never agree to it
