We signed Dustin Garneau and Martin Maldonado. That doesn't excite y'all?

Harris won’t have 1 out of 3 seasons where he’s worth 8 M

Those numbers can’t be right

Wouldn’t be shocked if we turnaround and sign a former Nats reliever Daniel Hudson, reportedly he’s in the 6 million a year range and Washington didn’t want him back for that

Harris is a big question mark to me.

I'd love to bring him back, but he might want to test the waters. This is his best chance to cash in.

He surely wants and deserves at least a 2 year, $17.5M deal like Pressly.

And cash in the man did.

Fangraphs posted the Astros top prospect list today LINK

They definitely upgraded on Urquidy and Toro after last year.

The Astros have acquired right-hander Austin Pruitt from the Rays in exchange for outfielder Cal Stevenson and righty Peyton Battenfield

quote:

The 30-year-old saw action with the Rays in each season from 2017-19, though preventing runs was difficult for him. Pruitt posted a 4.87 ERA (with a much better 4.17 FIP) and recorded 6.63 K/9, 2.25 BB/9 and a 48.9 percent groundball rate over 199 2/3 innings. However, he ranked near the top of the majors in spin rate last year, and that’s something the Astros are known to greatly value.

6th in the majors last year. No clue if we value him as a starter or reliever. Brief highlights I watched of him, he maxes out at about 93, throws a decent slider as his K pitch.

quote:

Pruitt's fastball was frankly not a good pitch in 2018. It was knocked to a .403 wOBA and provided no whiffs. The fastball limited Pruitt from more overall success.

quote:

The slider looks similar to the curveball in its performance, boasting plus chase and zone rates while generating a respectable amount of swings and misses. The slider, though, performed better on contact, allowing just a .493 OPS.

quote:

Despite three home runs allowed in just 96 uses, Pruitt's changeup graded as a positive pitch. He worked it in the strike zone at a 46.9% clip while still earning a chase out of the zone nearly 40% of the time. This enabled him to limit batters to a .712 OPS on his changeup.

quote:

Pruitt's curveball looks solid by the plate discipline numbers, with zone and chase rates both topping 45%. It did not earn a whole lot of whiffs, allowing lots of balls in play and a .377 BABIP to bring down its performance on the year.

Idk if he's much to be excited about yet. But maybe he's our annual scrap heap guy who turns into a useful starter.
