I absolutely hate this. Let Springer walk, let Correa walk, sent Tucker away, and likely letting Bregman walk.
I loathe this. The 100 loss seasons are coming back.
I understand your feelings.
But I am 100% opposite to your take. Going into last year's Spring Training, I wasn't looking forward to the season. I expected the team to do just enough to hang around and get shite on in the post season. I watched the least amount of games last season as I have watched in the last 30 years.
This year, I am excited. I expect the team to suck, but I can see the team finally trying to turn the direction. The forfeited draft picks are truly hurting the Astros now -- but at least there is daylight at the end of the upcoming long and dark tunnel.
Have fun with this season boys (and lady)... expectations are low, and all we need to worry about is watching to see which new guys have the talent to stick.

Swapping Tucker for for Paredes is a savings of around $10M. Dumping Pressly could save another $14 million. We may find ourselves in a holding pattern for 2025. A lot of money comes off the books in 2026
Abreu 19.5
Framber 17.8
Pressly 14
Montero 11.5
Caratini 6
69 million moving off the books. Of course that'll be somewhat offset by arbitration raises and Yed/Javi both get $11M bumps over this season.

frick that. Since Elon has moved to Texas, he needs to establish some bonafide roots and buy the Astros.
Houston Astros playing at SpaceX park.
He can buy all the stars.

I'm happy they got something for Tucker, who wasn't going to re-sign here. The haul seems good.
I wish they had been that prudent with Bregman last winter. May not have won the division without him, but he was total arse the first 2+ months last year. Still won the division without 3 months of Tucker.

I understand your frustration. I’ve been at this fanaticism for the Astros for a very long time.
But when Crane got JV at the deadline and exorcised my demons in ‘17, I lost some baggage and gave some goodwill. I mean this has to be run like a business or it would be government. LOL
Even your example of Franco is obviously flawed b/c it’s just another damn variable of why you don’t do it.
Altuve is our example of a guy you build around that deserves it. Berkman was another. In it for the right reasons.
Crane is not without fault. What he did to the Ryan family alone is enough to wish ill on him. But even the Abreu signing after fricking Click, which is another reason to dislike him, this diehard thought it was a great move. Had no idea Abreu was 5 years older than even a Cuban birth certificate would say.
Look, I’m just doing my best not to be an Alabama fan post Saban in these post Luhnow days

It actually feels good to look forward to watching baseball and have zero expectations on this season. (I mean, other than finishing 4th in the division).

Last year really was brutal
Not losing
Actually hating the way they played (or didn’t play)

Time to trade for Luis Robert.

I’m thinking Tucker signaled to Houston he was chasing a big bag something like 350 mil plus and if they didn’t want to pay that I think this is a solid trade. Need to use what money we have to fill the rest of the holes in the roster

If they can deal Pressly they’ll be about 30 below the tax. Still could have a big move in play.

It’s impressive how fast this front office has tanked

Unbelievable.
At this point, there are 4 legit bats in the starting lineup.
And of the shitty hitters, none of them provide quality ABs.
This would suck even if Tucker wasn’t traded.
