This team has made it impossible to really care about baseball and enjoy watching them play
And I still feel like I’m capable of enjoying watching one that is rebuilding/developing/working towards being competitive

Part of me doesn't want them to make the playoffs, because they don't deserve it, and the other part of me wants to see if they could cause a lot of chaos

That’s my thinking, too. I can’t actively root against the Astros, but I also recognize that they are not very good and surely shouldn’t be in the playoffs. On the other hand, we know how baseball can be if they back door this thing.

The crying out rage if they Astros get in and pull the wildcard round upset against the WhiteSox would be spectacular. We know we can win a series against them.
