Honestly…. We need a righty out the pen.

Could be JP France.. he's rehabbing at AAA now and probably won't be stretched out to start very soon.

So they added 3 bats, none are rentals, no significant prospects traded, AND stayed under the tax. Gotta give the baws kudos for a job well done done.

Indeed.

Yeah, the math didn’t make sense given what we were told we had left under

Absolutely. Great day. But I did chuckle at Dana dancing around a question at the press conference about how much input Crane had on the Correa deal. To paraphrase, “we get on the deal on the table and we just go to Jim for his blessing.”

Feels like palpable relief to have Pena, Urias, Correa, and Sanchez starting and available this weekend. Melton too. It wasn’t a long time but our eyes have been bleeding since the Dodgers series.

Crane likely had very firsthand knowledge of how much a mess that Twins sale is and knew they could just take on Correa in a salary dump. Kudos to him for seeing an opportunity that only cost his money and greenlighting it

Oh no doubt and full credit to him. But I think it’s obvious the days of Ludlow calling all the shots are done.

That's not an official updated number. We're getting $33 million of Correa's remaining salary paid by Minny but we don't know when. One would think Crane asked them to pay the rest of his salary for this season to stay under the tax. We'll see.

I'd stay away from Pressly. On one hand, we could use a bullpen arm snd we're already paying him this year. But there were red flags on him last year, we got out at the right time and his decline has continued this year. He can't strike out anybody more and gives up a ton of hits.

Pressly gave up homers in 4 of his last 5 appearances for the Cubs.

Crane: "Can we get one more good stretch out of him?"
