This is his last year of arbitration. He is expected to get $33-$35 million in arbitration this year.
His agent is Scott Boras.
Welcome Back, Tucker!!!
I somehow was under the impression that Soto was on one of those early Bregman-like midterm deals
I will excuse myself from the conversation and throw away my train ticket

Crane will roll with largely the same roster this year.
Out of the race by July. Hopefully trade everyone of value not named Altuve or Alvarez.

Dana just did an interview and was pretty straightforward with whose going to be the full time catcher next year

Not a surprise but it's nice to hear it confirmed Yainer is the starter.
His language was also interesting on the bullpen. Said we're going to need to replace bullpen help that we're losing like Maton, Neris and Stanek. That could just mean they're free agents, no longer part of the team and we need to fill those spots (including resigning them) or they're gone.

I think he’s playing some hardball when it comes to the pitchers that are unrestricted FAs he might want to bring some of those guys back

If this is even remotely true, I have to believe the FODB movement achieved some small amount of success.
And I am ok with that.

There was a tone in his voice that screamed
“and should have been this year.” It was like he couldn’t wait to say it and that says it all about his feelings for FODB.

I like the moves Dana is making on his staff. He's laying the foundation to do things his way.

And the bloggers, tweeters and the rest of us were tired of him. Good riddance. Just be quiet and go away, FODB.

Astros announced plans to build a ballpark village with plans to break ground around this time next year. Plan is for a 17 story 300 room 4 star hotel and 60,000 sqft of retail. A large video board will be placed on the side of Minute Maid for fan viewing outside the stadium.

So that basically confirms he was doing shite to spite everyone

So as it currently stands without any improvement the lineup likely looks like...
2B Altuve
3B Bregman
DH Yordan
1B Abreu
RF Tucker
C Yainer
LF Chas
SS Pena
CF Dubon
I dont care for Dubon starting. Useful as a roaming utility spot starter. But I don't see reason to grant him a starting spot. So the only position up in the air is LF/CF. Chas can play one of the other depending on who we acquire. With Soler opting for free agency last night, there's been a lot of talk about him being a fit.
He's something of an antithesis to the contact low strikeout approach we've typically been built around. But we could use some raw power.

If we go cheap, as usual, what about a Eddie Rosario/Jake platoon with Chas playing both OF positions?
Also, I'd really like to see Yordan bat 2nd and hope the new guy does it. Gives your best 2 hitters the most ABs and moves Tucker up a spot as well. I'd rather Bregs/Tuck protecting him than April/May Abreu.

I believe they will add a veteran left-handed hitter who can play CF and maybe even platoon. If Jake isn't traded, that would be a good way to go in CF while playing Chas most of the time in LF and DHing Yed most of the time.
To get that lefty bat, they may need to make a trade.
As for the bullpen, they won't overpay for Neris after the Montero debacle but I bet they would pay handsomely for Josh Hader.
