Almost. Right day (17th), wrong month (it was June).

So yeah, I pretty much listened to every Astros game on the now defunct WIBR 1300AM (“The Team 1300”), I was 13 years old and didn’t discover Playboy TV or Cinemax yet, so I was still pure.

TCI Cable out of Denham Springs didn’t offer HSE, so the only way I could watch an Astros game was on WGN, TBS, ABC or ESPN, which was rare.

I don’t know what I was doing on July 17, 1994, but I didn’t listen to the game that night, and I really regret missing this one. I sure listened to enough 4-1 and 3-2 games, but a 15-12 game? This was *the game* everyone was talking about, and for good reason. I still hear it brought up today.

Clowning with AI image generator to create uniforms. I also made a prison jumpsuit resembling all orange but the link doesn't want to paste properly.

ETA: I think the links nuked themselves. I'll fix it later.

I remember having it on and playing close attention once the comeback started. That game was on the defunct Baseball Network, which picked one day a week and televised every game in the majors regionally to an ABC or NBC affiliate. One broadcaster from each team was on the call unless it was the national game. Larry Dierker was usually the Astros' guy. I think Joe Buck may have been on the play by play call because he was still a local Cards broacaster then.

Love the navy jersey concept

More than anything I wish we‘d bring back the orange hats to wear with the home whites.

I know we have the Sunday navy's but like you I'm kind of into the navy alternate of the regular unis with the piping plus the orange batting helmet.

I also tried a few others. A black jersey which didn't look great and I tried to force it to do the old shooting star logo on a modern jersey but it didn't understand the assignment and fricked things up.

Same man. The orange hat is one of my frequent wears. Hated that they nixed it. I don't love that the spring training hats are two shades of orange but I do love that they're doing orange lids in some fashion.

Love the orange caps and your navy jersey mock-up with the orange letters. Better than either of the current navy jerseys.

I believe it was on ABC, which is another reason I can’t believe I missed it. Anytime the Astros were on TV, it was like a holiday for me.

I have found other Astros ABC games on YouTube from 1994, but can’t find this one.

I do as well. Like the white letters and orange numbers.

I don’t know why they scrapped both the all orange caps and the orange cap with the navy bill. And hell, even the one other cap they kept (navy with orange bill) they rarely ever wear.

I also wish they’d bring back the full rainbow one for Sunday home games.

Happy first day of Spring Training games!

Blanco gets the ball today.

Couple of interesting nuggets I’ve read the last few days:

-Singleton has the inside track of breaking camp with the big club because he’s out of options.
-Bielak also has the inside track as the long man due to lack of options. Tags thinks he’d for sure get claimed if put on waivers
-Javi is down 15 pounds. Miller has raved about how he’s looked.

Excited to get spring going. Mostly looking forward to watching Whitley, hopefully he solidifies himself as a bullpen option.

This whole team is out of options if we are being honest.

So what ? Goodbye to both. Singleton was a Dusty reclamation project,
and Bielak can't get a Jr High team out
