Outside of Kirby, there is no coach more loved by the fans of their school than Dabo. They know who they really are which is exactly why winning those titles with Newspring money got him a job for life.
Pretty much the only thing that could get him shown the door is being convicted of a serious crime or playing hide the flesh pickle with the wrong guy’s wife.

I also don’t think his goal is to produce a Heisman, it’s to produce a National Champion. Which I tend to agree with Dabo that it’s largely done through building your roster through high school recruits and not the portal.

Some of you are funny. Clemson doesn’t have UGA depth? What did UGA win last year? How about Bama? These southern schools got pushed around by freakin Michigan.
The portal is hurting these powerful southern schools where you have a top tier program every 200 miles. Kids can move around at will now. That’s why the hey day for a lot of teams are over. They can no longer hold onto their 4 star depth. Dabo will take portal guys no matter what he says. He just hasn’t so far. IPTAY has plenty of money to buy players and they will. That they’ve had a couple of single digit win seasons is no worry to Dabo.

He is the original Ed O. Dabo was a wr coach that was given the job. He was basically a cheerleader/recruiter. He had a stable OC/DC forever.
He did better than les and O due to being in the acc. Now he is pulling a les miles type move.

One of my friends in elementary school had a dad that was AD at USL.
He later was AD at Oklahoma St and Clemson.
I think he hired Miles at Ok St.
I know he gave Dabo the interim role at Clemson (and later permanent job) because he liked how Dabo interacted with his position players he coached.
