Funny, I can be very impatient at times to the point it's maddening. However, I can sit through a game loving every minute of it.

Is it possible for Strong Safety, the racist POS he is, to have a convo on any topic without using a racial lens of some sort?

So are you telling me homeruns aren't exciting?

Almost every superstar baseball player since the beginning of baseball have been big homerun hitters.

Homeruns are exciting, and no one is denying that. To watch the game just for the big hits just never appealed to me. I think it's much more fun to say "I bet he goes with a 2 seamer down and in here" and watch as a slider left up gets lined into the corner for a slide-in double. But I will very much disagree with "almost every" baseball superstar being a Homerun hitter. Probbaly very close to half of them were dominant pitchers. Now, out of the fielders side of the group, I would agree that probably 75% were big long ball hitters. That's not all that was exciting about them, though. And home runs aren't the only exciting thing in baseball. I don't even think they're the most exciting thing in baseball.

Plays I think are just as/more exciting than home runs:
Players drawing BB with 3 men on
Stealing bases, especially home
Practically any close play that involves a long throw from the outfield, regardless of whether it's a scoring play
Every time the 3rd baseman goes behind the bag to field a grounder and makes the play on the guy at first.
Any time an out of position infielder (or occasionally a diving outfielder) flips the ball to another player in better position to make the throw despite the thrower not having a play to make himself
Reaching first by strikeout (and the rare 4K inning that occasionally accompanies that)
Triple plays
Catcher snap throws to 1st
The hit and run when the ball is out of the strike zone
Triples
Diving/sliding catches resulting in outs
Players going up the wall to rob home runs or foul balls
Barehanded grabs on hard-hit ground balls

I read an article a while back where this black little-league coach in an impoverished area was asked what reason he saw as to why more black kids aren't playing baseball these days and his answer punched me in the gut -- He said it's because most of the time, baseball is a game you learn from your dad.

Just like football and basketball yet those two aren't having a problem so that's bs.

Well baseball must be racist because black people don't make up 70% of the participants because they should be grossly over-represented in every sport because they are better athletes. Of course, saying something like that is not racist.

Plus not counting Edgar Renteria, the blackest guy on earth, as black shows there is an agenda.

Hispanics outwork them in baseball like everything else.

The problem with American soccer isn't athleticism.

In a lot of ways it is. The pool of players with requisite athleticism is small so players with sub-optimal skill have to suffice.

I'm a 20 something Caucasian who grew up playing baseball, and I haven't watched an MLB game in ten years.

The pitchers are too good and they don't make any mistakes. When they do make a mistake, it ends up in the stands. If a guy hits a ball in the gap, it is like both teams deem it to be a double and the outfielder jogs after it and the runner loafs to second. Simply, it is boring to watch.

Imo, they need to televise the college game more. There are mistakes, so it's interesting to watch. It moves faster than the MLB and college kids tend to give more of an effort than pro players. If college football can be as big as it is, there is no reason college baseball can't have a bigger spotlight outside of super regionals and Omaha.

While I do wish they would show college ball there is really almost zero interest in college baseball outside of the south aside from a few places.

I agree, but you have to start somewhere. I'm not advocating for college football type coverage of college baseball. But in terms of growing the game, this could be a valid option.

Blacks stopped watching baseball because it got more brown not because it got more white.

Blacks hate them some Latinos.

I stopped watching baseball when I could no longer pronounce half the players' names.

Modern convenience and MTV gave America ADD. Baseball is just too slow paced and nuanced.

I think inner cities athletes have a tough time logistically with baseball.

in the DR, you have wide open fields where kids can play pick up baseball.

In the inner cities, it's tougher.

Althetic kids see the NBA and NFL and they view the path as "easier" in that they can get a full ride at a college and get a huge rookie contract.

With baseball, you don't have the college lure and then you have to deal with motels, vans, and the rest of the minor league life. It's not appealing/glamorous.
