At the very least, CP3 needs a Finals appearance and 5 more solid seasons to be up there with Kidd, Stockton, Isiah, and others.

I think I agree with Ghazi. Paul is currently the most underrated player in the league. He is an absolute stud. He is maybe the most efficient point guard ever.
His steals, passing, free throw shooting, decision making, etc are pretty much unmatched. Paul is pretty much the only player who can compete with LBJ or Durant on a daily basis (when healthy) in terms of numbers.

I'm in the "Chris Paul is overrated" camp and still find this to be absolutely laughable. You must have missed the majority of last season with Deron Williams struggled.

We had a debate around this a while ago and I think most felt he wasn't in the top 5 as of today, but would enter that argument with a few more good seasons.
Looking at stockton's numbers may not be the only way to go, as he had a dominant scorer down low for his entire career so his points were a little lower. He also was a better passer than CP3 is now.
Still give me all time Magic, Stockton, Big O, Thomas and Kidd, but I think he breaks into the 4-5 range within 5 years

VKC bringing the truth. This board, and most sports fans in general, is too stuck on team accomplistments (see the post regarding CP3 needing to play in a finals in order to be great)
