irrelevant as whole, sure...but the VERY first year is not irrelevant because it nullifies the first point above about competition. After seeing his rookie year we can say he looked good because he was fricking good, not because of the weak competition. Unless, as pride has said, you think he made a major leap in the few months between high school and the start of the NBA season.

That’s nice, but high school is 4 years, not one.

There is no intelligent argument for this.

The responses people have to you in this thread make me feel like I am in some other dimension where people move slow.

He needs to add a lot of weight before getting to the NBA.

I understand people on here don't like lebron but how anyone can argue that he isnt probablhy the single greatest high school athlete our country has ever produced is beyond me

I'm learning that you can't have one piece of hyperbole in your OP. Or one stubborn poster with an opinion cause this place will just argue you to death. This thread isn't about the kid in the OP at all. I read through 5 pages of the whole stupid argument.

he’s up there, top 5, maybe top 3, but don’t think I’d say he’s #1

For some reason the greatest high school athlete conversation is skewed toward basketball and track guys… I guess in other sports you’re too dependent on teammates to shine???

Lebron had a terrible shot in high school
He really had to work on 3 pt shooting when he got to league and it paid off

Let’s be honest it’s Michael Chang. Won a French open while in high school

And yet 5 months later he averaged 21-6-6 against NBA players. So I’d think high school players didn’t really notice his horrible shot as you say

What does having a bad shot have to do with him being arguably and debatably the most physically gifted and impressive high school athlete ever?

He was so athletically gifted and his court understanding so good he averaged absurd numbers as a rookie.

Still pissed Larry brown didn’t play him or Carmelo in the 2004 Olympics.

Chang had the goat calf muscles

Jim Brown is considered the greatest LaCrosse player ever
Didn't he also throw like two no hitters and was the leading scorer is Basketball

Also almost won the nationals in the decathlon
