Without Dylan Disu I dunno how we're gonna deal with this man on Saturday. Our center was 6'7 yesterday. Hopefully this dude just gets in foul trouble.

I understand people on here don't like lebron but how anyone can argue that he isnt probablhy the single greatest high school athlete our country has ever produced is beyond me

Lebron was insane but didnt Derrick Henry rush for like 4 thousand yards every season in high school?

Their teams played when Lebron was a junior and Carmelo a senior.

I watched that game and LeBron was the best player on the floor and it wasn't really close.

Our country has produced multiple HS kids that won multiple gold medals… meaning they were best in the world in open competition. Lebron was not the best in world in HS by any stretch of imagination.

Lol so the best professional basketball league in the world which generally includes the best athletes in the world compared to other professional leagues drafted a HS kid #1 overall even over college players. Not only was LeBron the best HS basketball player in the world that year he was likely a top 3 if not #1 amateur basketball player in the world. Basketball and football are clearly the two sports that take the most athleticism to play and LBJ would have been a top recruit in both. I can't stand the dude but he's unreal.

LBJ was amazing, but I was responding to the post saying he was best all time HS athlete.

Michael Phelps won 7 Olympic medals, 5 gold medals right after he graduated HS.

WCA,

What’s the criteria for this? Just high school accomplishments?

He’s not even the best player in his class. Paolo Banchero is better and will be a better pro

At the 2003 World Aquatics Championships, Phelps won four gold medals, two silver medals, and broke five world records.

Drew Henson

In football, he completed 400 passes for 5,662 yards and 52 touchdowns in three seasons. As a sophomore defensive back, he added 47 tackles and five interceptions, and was also an excellent punter. As a senior, he was named Parade All-American at quarterback and USA Today All-American at punter.

He finished second All-time in Michigan high school annals in passing yards (5,662) and touchdown passes (52). He also had the state's record in touchdowns passes for a single-season (26 in 1997) and a single-game (6). He averaged 45.7 yards-per-punt in his career.

In baseball, he was a four-time All-state selection. He finished as the national high school record holder in career home runs (70), RBIs (290) and runs scored (259). As a pitcher, he struck out 163 hitters in his junior season. He had a 14–1 record with a 0.86 ERA and 174 strikeouts in his senior season. He also was named the USA Today High School Player of the Year, Baseball America 1998 High School Player of the Year and the Gatorade High School Player of the Year.

FYI The last two times Holmgren and Banchero played each other Holmgren dominated him.

Chet is probably the best player in the country. Really worried about him when Bama plays them in Seattle.

Banchero gives me young Carmelo vibes. Jayson Tatum, too.

The game is just slowed down for Holmgren though. Very impressive skill set for that size
