Aaron Rodgers today went play high school football, he would be the best high school player of all time even if you put him on a team in Alaska that plays against absolutely no competition
no because he would be playing on a shitty team in Alaska and not against the states and teams that matter in HS

Lebron is the only high school player I have tuned in to watch, ever. Watching high school sports is weird unless it's your alma mater or your kids school.

I occasionally go out to see a local High School event if there is something interesting or compelling about the matchup. We're losing that these days with sports academies and all-star teams.

I'll give LeBron credit, he played for the Akron area all four years. Durant jumped to 4 different teams! All these kids today want to get noticed as freshmen then play for some national sports academy. Usually about half of the top 25 list is just some assemblage of good players recruited to play together. Oak Hill was obviously the first culprit in the old days, but it's everywhere now.

The next problem on the horizon is skipping HS altogether. Just a bad idea, in my opinion.

Check LeBron’s stats and accomplishments in high school and his competition and get back to me.

I don't understand what was wrong with LeBron's competition? LeBron's team actually lost 4 games his junior season and lost the state championship to Cincinnati LaSalle. They played against the best teams all across the state of Ohio on top of numerous nationally-ranked programs. His game against Oak Hill and Carmelo was nationally televised, his game against Trevor Ariza and Westchester was nationally televised. He eked out a win against a Columbus Brookhaven team that had like 6 D-I talents on its roster. I think most actually thought Brookhaven was a better team.

I mean, not every game they played was against top-notch competition, but he ran through a gauntlet his entire career.

So if current Aaron Rodgers was playing high school ball today in Alaska, the reigning nfl mvp, you would be on this site saying he isn’t the best high school player?

I can’t wrap my head around how fricking dumb that sounds

ETA: let’s highlight this logic even more. If Novak went play high school tennis at a shitty school in Wyoming, I guess according to you he wouldn’t be the best high school
Tennis player

Thats not what I’m presenting you. I am saying if they allowed Aaron Rodgers right now to go play at a high school in Alaska, you are telling me you wouldn’t consider him the best high school football player

I’m not telling you where most good players are developed, I’m saying the talent and greatness of a player isn’t defined by their classification or competition. Those two things are completely independent of each other

According to you it’s ludicrous Stingley was considered the best high school player in the nation

He played at a shite school with bad competition

maybe not but their media perception is. There's a reason the top players in TX, FL, and CA get the most 5* ratings. There's a reason guys in smaller classes feel overlooked.

Put 2010 Aaron Rodgers at ULM and they'd go 6-6. He absolutely would not win the Heisman there.

Well 1. He wouldn’t be a high school player because 2. He’s a professional and 3. This is an absolute shitbag of a question but 4. You knew that.

I’m saying that playing crap competition can make a player look better than they are.
true

. What he has done in the NBA is irrelevant
irrelevant as whole, sure...but the VERY first year is not irrelevant because it nullifies the first point above about competition. After seeing his rookie year we can say he looked good because he was fricking good, not because of the weak competition. Unless, as pride has said, you think he made a major leap in the few months between high school and the start of the NBA season.

Yeah in 5 of the 35 games of a season. He was in a Akron private school league. Let’s not act like he was in a Chicago or Dallas or LA public school with dozens of future Division 1 players scattered around the city

And what's your point? Dude is arguably the 2nd best bball player of all time. It's dumbarses like yourself that can't separate his talent from your hate towards his political views.

We know Alabama was the best team in college football last year because they were in the best conference beating the best teams. Ole Miss went 5-5 playing the best teams in the country. Now if you took that same Ole Miss team and had them play a Sun Belt schedule,
You're putting the wrong team in the Sun Belt.

You just said Bama was the best team in the nation. Now put Bama in the Sun Belt last season, same exact team. So now is that same exact team not as good?

He’s a goofy looking kid for sure. Looks like Gonzaga made a stronger arse offer than other schools.
