Texas coach intentionally stalls the game to roll the score back and get a tie instead of a loss.

"Texas and Kentucky were scheduled for an 11:30 a.m. CT first pitch, and a drop-dead time of 2:30 p.m. CT, do to a scheduled flight for the Wildcats.

If you are unfamiliar, a drop-dead time is an agreement that is set between the coaches and umpires at home plate before the start of the game. Essentially, drop-dead times are in place so that teams are able to keep their scheduled travel plans, which was the case this weekend. If the game runs until the set drop-dead time, the game is called at that moment, with the final score being the score at the end of the previous completed inning.

They're hated before they even get to the SEC.

And, there's no penalty for their little ghey arse upside down horn gesture.

What a bunch of soft pussies.

This "rule" tells me that none of this should be taken seriously. Still a bitch move by Texas though.

So Kentucky went up 7-4 and didn’t win

What a stupid rule

Dumb rule. They should have a drop dead time for starting a new inning, not just a time to halt play no matter the situation.

I don't like it but he's also paid to make W's and I wouldn't risk my job for the sense of "honor" by letting my team walk into a L.

Exactly. He is judged on wins and losses for his job. If they dont like it, change the rule. Coaches always try to manipulate time constraints

drop-dead time

Most shocking thing about this is the media and universities are ok with using the phrase drop-dead time in 2023

No not exactly.

He’s judged in part, and probably mostly on wins and losses.

Will Wade was fired for not winning?
Art Briles?
Mike Leach?

Coaches get judged on a whole bunch of things.

More like that it was like game 3 of about 50

Interesting to watch unfold but irrelevant after the fact

How about make your team better, coach better and actually WIN! This is a Bitch move and should not be allowed, especially if the other team is up 3 runs.

Why aren’t all softball teams traveling by bus everywhere?

Equity

Not fair that football players get to fly and softball has to take bus

both schools most likely have a PJ waiting for them on a tarmac somewhere, the drop-dead rule for travel plans is ridiculous.

You think college softball teams are flying private jets?
