Really damn stupid that the 1-4 teams don't get to host a playoff game. Missing out on some wild college atmospheres and gonna end up with too much traveling for fans of teams who actually make it to the semis or championship. Hard to ask fans to cross the country potentially 3-4 times. Gonna end up with some half empty stadiums for the premier bowl games in the semis.
Peach Bowl - AZ State gets to travel damn near all the way across the country to play Texas, who got to host a playoff game, or Clemson who would basically be getting a home game only 2 hours away.
Rose Bowl - Oregon misses out on a chance to host in Autzen, which would be a crazy atmosphere. Tennessee or Ohio State would be coming all the way across the country.
Fiesta Bowl - Boise State catches either SMU or Penn State...this is the one that probably doesn't need to be held on campus because Boise stadium only holds about 30k.
Sugar Bowl - Georgia vs Indiana or Notre Dame. Notre Dame will travel, not sure about Indiana. Georgia will travel, but sure would be fun to have them hosting a playoff game on campus.
Should let the 4-6 major bowls rotate hosting the 2 semifinal games and the championship every other year. Each one would host a playoff game every other year, and host a championship once every 4-6 years depending on how many bowls you put in rotation. Id think Sugar, Rose, Fiesta, Orange, Peach, and Cotton Bowls.
