You can tell by his demeanor that this guy is a complete tool/douche/prick. I don't have personal experience with the guy, but I do know people that have had issues with him. Even recently, I've had people confirm everything the Tulane coach had said.

fwiw, one of my good friends from high school had his arm destroyed by glen riding him in the playoffs one year

many kids have had their arms shot by the a-hole

quote:

he consulted Doiron's parents and Doiron himself

the confrontation with the player was prolly along the lines of, "you're going to go out there and pitch you motherfricker or else we'll all think that you're a fig"

I agree with Coach Jones's assessment, but I don't agree with the position of "I won't recruit any kids from your school again."

I'm sorry... but it's ridiculous to expect ANYONE to throw 18 innings in 36 hours.

Even someone with the most basic command of baseball knowledge knows that's unsafe.

If you can't win without one particular pitcher on the mound in a back-to-back playoff situation, then I question whether your team should even be there. It's a team game, not "who has the best single pitcher."

People sure try their hardest to ruin the game of baseball. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm agreeing with Rick Jones.

glen always has his 1 awesome/hot pitcher that he fricking RIDES in the playoffs

when i was a sophomore at LSU i think 4 of the last 6 developed serious arm issues the next year

i think wade leblanc and quentin bruchaus were the only ones who escaped, but Q died and i don't know if wade was "the guy"

Regardless to who is right or wrong here, IMO the worst thing a college coach can do is alienate HS coaches, and more importantly call them out.

The thing i dont get is that Cecchini says Doiron was hurt before the season, but then he was feeling better and supposedly throwing 94mph in the state championship. Well, would he not think it would be even more of a risk to do that to a kid who had already had arm troubles. That was just completely irresponsible to do that to the kid when he could've had a bright future in baseball.

while likely true its still a stupid thing for him to publicly go after him, its never smart to burn a bridge.

But maybe he thought its the best way to raise some awareness and save some kids down the road.
