He's not dumb but he is an a-hole who doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut.
The guy is a legend on the recruiting circuit. He'd throw his mother under the bus.

He would only come out and say this if he already know that Ceccini already wouldn't send kids to him.
Tulane gets a decent amount of Barbe kids. At least compared to LSU
I think Nick bourgeois was overused in HS at Barbe as well before he got to Tulane

I know that, but what I'm saying is that he's probably already had this conversation with Cecchini a number of times, and they've probably exchanged words over this very situation, at which point Cecchini probably said, "Well, I won't send you any of our kids any more."

i remember going to an LSU-Tulane game in 1987 when i was a teenager with my dad where LSU won in 15 innings at turchin .. the tulane starting pitcher -- sam amarena -- pitched all 15 innings for tulane ...

Leblanc pitched behind Chris Denton for 2 years. Denton was very good in high school and college. I believe his career record was 27-2. One loss was against Casey Daigle (married to jenny finch) and to west monroe in the champ. game.

yeah Denton was the name i was fishing for
didnt either Denton or Leblanc pitch a quarterfinal game then come back and start a state championship one year??

Yes it was Denton and he had tommy john surgery his soph year in college. He pretty much did the same thing as Doiroin did in the state tourney.

Are the cecchini brothers twins? And are they both still in high school.
I played against barbe about 12 years ago and pretty much all I remember was cecchinis big arse wife and young sons who it looked like they were trying to groom to be major leaguers.
I've always wondered what kind of baseball players his sons turned out to be.

No, Garin was a senior this year and Gavin was a sophomore.

Pretty sure Denton was brought in the 2002 state championship game on no rest, a game he lost to Jesuit, right? Meanwhile Jesuits kid was about to log two complete games in couple days or something like that

Yeah, I believe that was Ryan Martin. He pitched 7 innings on friday against Destrehan and came back against Barbe either Saturday or Sunday.

yeah it was Ryan Martin. He was a junk ball pitcher, so they threw him a lot in that tourney.
he also led Jesuit to the state title in basketball that year as a PG
little, unassuming dude who from first glance didnt look anything like an athlete.

FWIW, Butler pitched seven innings on Friday for Barbe and came out of the bullpen for a couple of innings on Saturday.
That was just a few days ago. Butler is a sophomore, iirc

Yeah that's him. I went to the game and he beat Barbe essentially with just a slider. They couldn't hit it. He may have broken 83 that day but frustrated Barbe to no end. Brought Denton in late, only to lose, if my memory is correct
