If he wins it this year, I don't think anyone in Cleveland could hate him for leaving. Two championships for that city is a dynasty.

If he doesn't announce from outer space I don't think there will be much blowback.

If the cavs can trick someone into taking kevin love the Cavs might be able to rebuild enough for him to stick around one more year.

The Cavs understand everything that’s already been said in here. If they want Lebron, they will have to do something to the roster to keep Lebron. They have to put something together that involves moving Love/Thompson/JR and the 8th pick. Possibly another future pick too. I just don’t see them sitting back and letting Lebron walk again.

Never underestimate Dan Gilbert's ego.

You’re talking about moving $52 million in salaries for the next three years and a pick that may net you Trae Young or Mo Bamba.

There’s not a lot of teams that would even be interested in taking on that, much less giving up a good player in return

Wouldn’t blame him one bit for leaving, just don’t make it a spectacle

Gilbert has already done enough to not give LeBron a reason to stay

I live in the area and I have two thoughts on this statement:

1. Cleveland has some of the most loyal sports fans in the country, right up there with Buffalo.

2. The reaction if he leaves again would be a whole hell of a lot different this time around. You wouldn't see the jersey burning and the vitriol from Gilbert again.

The people that hate him are going to hate whatever decision he makes, regardless if it can be justified.

I think most rational people understand that he did right by his city and brought them a championship. With the current nba environment,he is not winning another championship in Cleveland. He is not proving some grand point by staying in Cleveland and getting bounced from the first rd in the playoffs for the next 5 years just to be able to say he stayed.

ETA Also Dan Gilbert is the biggest douche in the world, if anyone deserves the best player in the world leaving it is him.

Your point is well taken but you know someone is burning a jersey and posting it on Twitter.

this is like saying we have been bad for so long that we havent really attracted any national interest in a very long time. the only idiots left rooting for us arent going anywhere if they havent left yet

More along the lines of even if the teams suck, they still get support, unlike somewhere like Miami or San Diego. If the Dolphins lose 3 straight games, they may have 500 people at their next home game.

The internet says he had an ok game for 30 pts, 10, rebounds, 7 assists, and plays basically the whole game.

If he goes somewhere the MJ supporters will go bonkers.

There were Ohio people on this board still saying back in 2014 that he was "dead" to them for leaving.

Dan Gilbert still had that open letter available right up until just before LeBron returned. His backtracking preceded an entire fanbase's 180.
