ball is different size
The basketball? Yes, it's a different size because it's womens basketball. The ball being a different size doesn't change the sport. It's not hard to understand. It's incredibly stupid to have her career total going up against Pete's, but it's even dumber to think they are playing a different sport.

Congrats to her, thousands of hours sharpening those skills pays off.

Not at all when discussing record keeping.
100m and 200m are both the same sport (track) but they don't share records.
Women's Basketball and Men's basketball are different sports as well, that's why they have different rules (one plays 4 quarters, the other plays 2 halves)

I think Clark needs to play a 5th year (Covid) to really put some distance on all the college basketball stats.
If I were her, I definitely would. Finish with a Master’s and have some insurance for later in life, as the WNBA doesn’t pay generational wealth. She could easily go on to be a coach, AD, or sports administrator later in life, like Mulkey.

It’s something to talk about a I guess and shows just how good she is. But there are some major differences here such as the three point line and number of games played. Regardless of what happens she’s absolutely the best woman basketball player of all time and will only get better

Not to mention NIL money can compete with WNBA money anyway

That’s a dumb take that’s like saying the NBA and college ball are different sports because different rules. Same sport different leagues

Of course they have different rules. Mens college basketball and the NBA have different rules, that doesn't mean they are a different sport.
In your own words...

They are playing the same sport. The womens and mens version have different rules, nobody is arguing that.

Can’t believe she declared. 3-4 year wnba salary in one year of college…dumb.

Would be a good time.
Just kidding.
But seriously though

Maybe she’ll get her period this weekend and can’t play.
Posted on 2/29/24 at 5:36 pm to QJenk
I mean it's completely different sports.

Allow the young lady to have her moment.
She does have her moment, she's the highest scoring women's ncaa player of all time.
She'll never pass Pistol Pete because she plays a different version of the sport. She can't pass him.

Smaller ball, easier to handle for those with small hands
Women are smaller than men, and have smaller hands. There's no inherent advantage for women to use a smaller ball. It evens it out if anything.
The sport is the same. The league is different.

Yes, it's a different size because it's womens basketball.
We used to love playing with them in high school during warm-up because everything went in.
But that was a dumb goof-around in hindsight...
Because once the game started, the 1st quarter was brick city.

Obviously, this comes with the asterisk that Pete did this in 3 years. Caitlin is doing it in 4.
There should be no asterisk. Bc this is a different sport and should have never been compared.

Wait, what?

Why would she go to that tatted up, lower paying, "plays for the other team" league...when its already been shown they hate her out of jealousy and bigotry.
She better be prepared like Jim Carey in Cable Guy...

I’m glad this bothers LSU fans.

quote:Uhh, why are you justifying this record by comparing her to Pete? It's women's basketball, not men's basketball. Different sport.

The asterisk is that she played women's ball, that's it.

He took 700 more shots in a year less. Think about that. If he hadn’t played at LSU the LSU fans here wouldn’t care. Dude was the penultimate ball hog and daddy was his coach.
