Iowa hosts #2 Ohio State on Sunday in a sold out game.

Cheapest ticket on SeatGeek is $335. Who would've ever thought for women's College basketball? Not even UConn pulled this off. It's an interesting phenomenon.

That's the definition of an absurd extreme.

I get the MSB's disdain for WBB. Heaven forbid people complain about the boring no defense NBA, but let's be honest here, she is breaking an all time scoring record. It doesn't happen that often. It should be a big deal. Girl can ball. The female Larry Bird. It deserves some recognition.

No. The sport doesn't matter, so neither does the record. That's the point.

No. It's meaningless and she can't. I can find a dozen teenagers at the park on a Saturday afternoon that would destroy her..

I really don't know what you are to celebrate less than mediocrity. It'd patronizing and embarrassing that she would be lauded for something meaningless.

This is like saying chess and checkers are the same game because they’re played on the same board.

But the chess pieces are just way more athletic, can move mostly anywhere and dunk.

I would love to never see another Caitlin Clark thread ever again. Or women's basketball thread in general. But this is just stupid.

Steph Curry just barely beat out Ionescu in the NBA/WNBA head to head 3 point competition. Womens basketball is boring as hell and the non athletic aspect of it compared to men makes it hard to watch, but some of these broads, Clark included, can shoot. To think that some teenage bozos at your park could beat her is just idiotic. But I guess all the teenagers at your park are dunking, have handles, and shoot 45% from three.

It does in softball.

I have to admit it's amusing watching the liberal LSU fans in this thread struggle with the agonizing decision of pushing the illogical woke narrative of their propaganda masters versus defending LSU legend Pistol Pete and his hallowed record.

That doesn't make someone a good basketball player. It's one of the least defining characteristics to make a basketball player.

Gils Arena had the guy that made the most 3pters in a row. The guy is borderline homeless and never played meaningful basketball. He can just shoot really well. It's not impressive. Get it up in a game over people.

Yeah. Dunking is not hard for most teens over 5'10 that play basketball more than casually. I could dunk at 16 and I was never that great of a player.

I don't know when the truth became disrespectful. Or when logic gets thrown out the door. She's not good. She wouldn't play for any regular D1 college team. That's a fact. I can easily find guys from a park that would dominate her and her team/sport. So why does her record matter?

there is a pretty big difference between shooting unguarded 3's and playing a game against somebody.

Craig Hodges (as an example) was a 3 time defending 3 point contest winner and couldn't even find a team to sign him and had to finish his career overseas.

a team of 15 years old boys beat the living shite out of Team USA women's soccer team.
and that Women's soccer team won the World Cup.

is it really that far fetched to think the exact same thing couldn't happen in a different sport?

She would probably be a bench warmer if she played with the men in college. She's nowhere near Pistol Pete level and the media should be ashamed for pushing this stupid shite on us!

She leads the nation in assists, not just scoring.

She's a playmaker...she doesn't just run down and unleash jumpers...that's all you see on highlights. She averages triple-doubles.

"Female Larry Bird"? Good Lord. I'm a fan of Clark's but Bird was one of the best players in the history of the NBA. And his greatness goes way beyond points scored. Magic described him this way: "it wasn't how many 3's he made, it was WHEN he made them. "
