We all knew it was coming

When the first round of the NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday night, there's likely going to be plenty of drama, but don't look for any of that drama to happen with the first overall pick, because it appears the Bengals have already turned in their draft card (unofficially). According to Fox 19 in Cincinnati, the team has informed Joe Burrow that he'll be the No. 1 overall pick. The NFL loves when there's a mystery at the top of the draft, but this year, it definitely makes sense that the Bengals told Burrow early, and that's mainly due to the fact that the draft could turn into total chaos since it's being conducted in a virtual setting for the first time in NFL history. Not only is there a threat that the draft could be hacked, but there's also the possibility of major glitches, one of which happened to the Bengals on Monday when the league conducted a virtual mock draft to get all 32 teams ready for the actual draft. By letting Burrow know now that he's being draft, the Bengals can basically just sit back and watch the rest of the first round like the rest of us on Thursday.

He will be missed. Hope he at least gets paid at some point in his career though, cause he deserves it.

I really really hope it works out. I do not trust Brown at all to change his ways and make the investment needed to be a consistent high level winner.

Wait a minute.

It's going to happen. Good luck to Burrow. Cincy is a place he'll need it.

Everyone can agree Cincinnati is a terrible organization and if at all possible to choose, a terrible place to try and build a career for Joe.

What is something he could do that would force Cincy not to draft him, but other teams would def take a 'chance' on him in first round?

Dropping a racial slur is the only thing I can come up with...But that's alot of money to forfeit to fall to wherever the Patriots pick, lol.

Burrow is going to be good for them and will have a nice career. He'll make some Pro Bowls. They're going to have to draft really well for his career to be anything more than that though.

Zac Taylor was on Get UP this morning and it was pretty funny. He kept saying plans for having Burrow, but adding the if we draft him caveat. It went something like:

Greeny: With the circumstances how do you plan to get Burrow up to speed and ready to start day 1?

ZT: Well if we decide to draft Burrow [insert very detailed plan for getting Burrow up to speed]

I'm glad he's going to the Bengals so that if he has a disappointing career I can have a built in excuse and it won't hurt my pride as an LSU fan as much.

I guess they’re still holding out hope someone offers them a king’s ransom for the pick.

At some point? Won’t his very 1st contract pay him $20+ million?
