Those Grit-N-Grind playoff years in Memphis were hype af. Zach Randolph and Mike Conley magic.
They were awesome. Went to a bunch of games back then. Then, the team was broken up, they got shitty, then the bubble season happened, and outside one decent season with Morant, they haven’t gotten really back since

Boogie wasn't complaining about New Orleans when they were winning with him & he was up on the float riding in Zulu on Fat Tuesday. Then he tore his Achilles tendon trying to get his own rebound after he missed a free throw. And here he is.

What am I missing, nba attendance shows 689,000 fans for 41 home games which is 16,800 and max capacity is low 17,000? Damn near sold out every game?
Some of the NBA stadiums hold 20,000 people or more so obviously the smaller venues can’t beat them with attendance?

They sell tickets, people just don’t go.
The pelicans are currently 2-7 and fat boy Zion is nursing his hamstring again and Willie Green should have been fired last year. Nobody is going to make any effort to watch the Pels when the Pels don’t make any effort.

Even as shitty as the Pels are, they still ranked ahead of the Grizzlies, Kings, Pacers, Clippers, Wizards, and Hawks in attendance last season
Do you genuinely believe that they had more people physically in attendance than those teams? Be honest now.

Is that Big Country Bryant Reeves’ son?

meh maybe they've had virtually no consistent success since arriving, tough to build a fan base when you're a relocated team and have been perennially rebuilding (err building) since you arrived.
Inept ownership and leadership are the larger issues but that doesn't appear to be changing anytime soon so year. Probably will eventually be relocated but I don't think the blame lies with the fans

They haven’t had more than back to back playoff appearances in 23 years. Just a completely inept franchise.

The largest issue is the market…

I'm fed up with the Pelicans right now, but F boogie. Dude is just salty from how he botched it up here. Pelicans offered him a boatload while he had a torn Achilles. He turned it down. He only made it four more years in the NBA after leaving the Pels and never made close to as much money as the Pels offered him.
And the Pels were 21st in % attendance his 2nd year there. Ahead of some bigger named teams.
Pelicans next game has two courtside tickets available, the team is awful right now, and they're are still $3,211 each.
Players just come off as dumb when they say stuff like that.

People in Memphis love the Grizz. I have lots of friends from there and they are big Grizz people. They just need something to cheer for.

Give the fans something, anything to be excited about.

Sure, but they don’t have anything else there in Memphis.
There’s plenty of large market teams with poor pro ball attendance when they aren’t good if it’s in a city with tons to do.
Miami Marlins baseball for example.

I can't fathom someone that I want to hear from less than Boogie Cousins.

Ain’t no hockey fans in our area lol That would fare even worse than the Pelicans
I’m not so sure. Hockey is such a strongly attended sport across the board. You would have a small passionate fanbase in most US cities.
Sure, Nola could be one of the places where that doesn’t hold true but it wouldn’t surprise if it was well supported
