Mike Tirico better keep his mouth shut over any controversy. According to the insider book on ESPN, he was one of the biggest wussy hounds/male sexist pigs in the whole company. And apparently there were a lot of them in the early stages. According to the book, there were many many sexual harrassment complaints filed against him, by co-anchors & young female staffers. Back then, no big deal & he got away with it.

Bob Costas can find a fire, and promptly die in it.

Self-important, pompous arse.

No, that's called you being a nobody.

Now, if you were a black guy who had millions of dollars, you'd still be shite out of luck. And THAT is called racism.

Costas wants acknowledgment.

The Masters wants an historical free pass bcause Tiger Woods is there now (I guess) and they're going to admit a woman or did...like a lot of folks/institutions who like to pretend to rewrite or whitewash history down yonder.

Waste of time - Masters and CBS aren't going to join in any mea culpa.

Augusta National had a black member when Tiger was 12.

And they have two female members.

There's a female only golf club in the northeast. When is Costas going to call them out?

This was my immediate next thought. However, the liberal left LOVE the women and their votes... they would never go there. The same principles in racism apply here " its not my fault I'm white and you are black just as it is not my fault you are female and I am male, what is your fault is how you choose to take a stance."

What folks are not understanding is that no one is denying the charges against Augusta, we are simply arguing two opinions.

One is that they are a private club. Anyone can go and play golf there but to be a member, there was yes at one time discrimination based on race and sexism. And as self righteous of a nation as we have become it's their right to be that way. And while we sit here and crusade against Augusta, the same type of activity occurs at the all women golf clubs, BET and others. We are more upset about the continuous crusade against white males.

Secondly why even want to make those comments. Augusta has been attempting to be a more socially acceptable club even when they don't have too. You don't have to erase the past but why not focus more on the positive potential of the future. Why continue to stir the pot. LSU and pretty much any other major college football programs did not have blacks playing some up until the 70s. I don't hear commentators making notes of this before games.

It's time to move forward from our ugly past and to me things like race baiting/mongering and bias along with the denial of reverse racism and use of it as a crutch perpetuated by the MSM has done more to hurt social issues and race relations than anything that hate groups or actual racism could have ever done.

Costas is in old man mode but his point is solid IMO.

Augusta obviously made it clear to CBS not to talk about the protests and issues that plagued the Masters in the past.

Augusta is certainly free to bring that pressure or conditions on any media partner it wants to work with.

But change the situation.

If instead of CBS/Augusta/sexism it was ESPN refusing to talk about concussions at the request of the NFL, people would flip their shite about how ESPN was just interested in keeping their tv rights.
