Yes, you said something incorrect in an attempt to argue that discriminatory behavior is OK so long as it does not grab too much of a spotlight. We get it. It's a dumb argument, but we get it.

1. I was going to say Masters but obviously no other tournament would host the masters but Augusta so I just put US Open. I should have said "major"
2. Costas made it clear that it wasn't nightline or something and he wouldnt make a huge deal of it but if he were calling it he would have mentioned it. There is NOTHING wrong with that.

Why should it matter? It's a private club hosting a private event, attended by private individuals, showcased on TV by a private company, and sponsored by private companies.

I thought the gun comments were a little melodramatic. Not that he shouldn't mention it or even the gun debate but he did prattle on about it. I'm not going to crucify the guy for that though.

do i really need to explain why a club that has existed 95% of its history without anything but white males could be interpreted as racist/sexist? Again, nobody is saying disband Augusta just expressing displeasure for how they have chosen to operate most of their existence.
