Do you see how dumb your thought process is? You basically admit he’ll say no but you’d still like to delay the whole hiring process just to verify something you already know ?

UNC won’t be getting a big name coach. They’d rather take their chances on a younger, up-and-coming guy who’s hungry than be forced to amp up the contract for a a washed up old-hag of a coach.

I don't understand how he's lasted a decade+ in the NBA. One last ride in college makes sense. Might as well be at a blue blood where he'll have the horses. Selfishly, I don't want to see him win a title with another program, though. Definitely not that program.

Billy choosing LSU over UNC would be like Kiffin choosing Ole Miss over LSU

This has to be a troll because otherwise it’s unthinkable.

Would take about 9 seconds to get the offer sentence out and him to process then say no.

Donovan going to LSU over UNC is the same as Urban Meyer going to Ole Miss over Ohio State

It’s not that extreme. LSU basketball actually has some history. LSU basketball has 8 Archie Mannings that were actually great

How do you know that they didn't? You think they would theoretically do all of this in public? Not that there would be an even remote possibility that he would answer the phone call because there are multiple significantly better job openings in college basketball right now.

I mean, this is a first ballot hall of fame level terrible arse post.

They almost never go outside of the UNC family

They aren’t breaking that pattern to go hire a name that isn’t big. Way too much for one cycle. They’re going the safe route

Are you retarded? Donavan wouldn’t even answer a call from LSU. I am not particularly a Wade fan. But he is the best fit for LSU.

"Hey verge should we go ahead and pull the trigger on this wade thing?"

"nah not yet. I'm waiting on billy donovan to tell me yes or no. I know they're taking the offer seriously because his agent could not stop giggling with excitement during our 2-minute phone call."

Look at the poster's history. There are MANY first ballot terrible arse posts. Such as saying Kiffin was a clown and LSU should have hired someone else, along with telling everyone Brad Steven's wanted to get back into college coaching and would be interested in the LSU job. The same Brad Stevens who, evidently, didn't consider the open Butler job, and immediately shot down the UNC job.

Delaying what process? Lsu has re-hired a coach that left them in shambles. How hard is that to understand? You people are flat out losers. Of all the coaches out there, this is the best you can come up with? Once a dirt bag always a dirt bag.. I freaking hope the ncaa burns them, because they'll be watching him like hawk, and waiting for him to screw up. It just proves my point that LSU doesn't care about MBB.

Lets just say a call was made.

That call went to an agent of BD. And the agent laughed at the question and said look lets just pretend this never happened to save you some major embarrassment.

Thats what agents are for. They likely get lots of dumb calls. But I doubt LSU even made a call to begin with so this whole argument is just dumb.
