No, he was being subjected to a public hate fest and his family was inundated with death threats all for saying he didn't agree with protesting the anthem; so he took the cowardly way out and apologized for having an opinion. He's a bitch
This whole post is interesting. I can understand you thinking he’s a bitch. But could you also see why he may have caved for the best interests of himself and his family?
I hate that the SJW/lib crowd tries to force someone into agreement.

I think his wife played a big role in his decision. It wasn't the moral thing to do, but a mother's instinct is to protect her children at all costs, so she thought that by groveling the Brees family would be safe from left-wing scum

I don't recall ever hearing that Cannon displayed the name of an alleged rapist on his helmet. But team chemistry matters.

Cannon got caught up in something and made a mistake. He spent the rest of his life making up for it. Brees is a coward and a complete piece of ignorant f*cking filth and will go down is the biggest disappointment in New Orleans' history.

You are a ridiculous thread

Brees said something in a time where it was considered really insensitive. He apologized (right or wrong). How that could be compared to a felony is laughable. Brees is the best thing to happen to louisiana sports, ever.

How is that a laughable statement?

Fall from grace and hurting your political feelings are two different things.

In the end people didn't care what Billy Cannon did and he spent the rest of his life making up for it. I'm not sure people will forget what Drew Brees did.
OMG HE BETRAYED THE MAGAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know that having an opinion that is not yours is not a punishable offense, right? Idiots.

Know how know you're white and a bigot?

OP is a baby back bitch snowflake. Brees had a minor guffaw. Cannon counterfeited money. There is no logical comparison.

what in the hell did brees do?
He tried to support his teammates and community. But message board posters felt as if he deflated balls or fought dogs or raped a woman.
