Bama 2020 was loaded and it was all sec but the gimmicked road games really help a team like that avoid a loss. I could see 2 though based off talent. It’s also hard because the other teams played various game numbers and you had silly shite like players being out in mass.

In 2019, Ohio state would have been favored over LSU if they played

Not with the state of health of OSU. Fields hurt his knee against PSU and Dobbins left the Clemson game. Healthy it may have been a tossup going into the game, but if LSU/OSU played in the NCG, OSU was missing 2 of it's biggest offensive threats in a game where they would likely have had to score 35+

Edit: you seem sure of this. Do you have a source?

What are you basing this off of?
Ohio State lost to Clemson by 6 & LSU beat Clemson by 17

Was many threads here on it at the time. SP + rankings and such had Ohio state ahead of lsu at the end of the year which is usually the best indicator of a hypothetical line

It’s just dumb. Team A can beat Team B, and team B would still be “favored” the very next week

I hate when people try to use Vegas as a ranking metric

Bama 2020 will forever be laughable being regarded as one of the top teams of all time. That Ohio State team they beat was what? 4-0?

From a talent standpoint point they were elite but the gimmick road games, depleted rosters and the conferences all having a wide difference in games just makes 2020 laughable.

It’s that way in every sport that had an altered season. I’d feel the same way if it was 2020 LSU that won it.

SP+ yes, but I think the actual injuries would have had LSU as like a 5 point favorite or something.

Dobbins being out was huge. He had 2k yards rushing and was destroying Clemson before he left the game I believe in the 2nd quarter. He had 18 carries for 175 yards and a TD in the first half. Without him the rushing game was not the same (of course not).

That's why I was asking the question

As a neutral observer, I thought you guys got fricked by the refs. That team is one of the best teams to never win a title, IMO

2018 Clemson at #8 is ridiculous.

Going into the 2018 College Football Playoff Game Alabama was considered “one of the best teams ever”. Heard it all week from the media that year. Clemson 2018 is not #8.

unbiased ranking.

1 - 2019 LSU
2 - 2025 Indiana
3 - 2022 Georgia
4 - 2018 Clemson
5 - 2020 Bama

not sure about the bottom half.

Indiana has the most mentally tough team in recent history

I think most neutral observers agree with that, and it wasn't just the fumble call. You had the questionable targeting call on Wade where TL dropped his head into the contact, and you had a personal foul on a punt where one of the gunners for Clemson ripped off an OSU player's helmet by his facemask which would have resulted in a re-kick.

Just a badly officiated game for sure. I'm sure Clemson fans have a few calls they disagreed with too but obviously I remember the OSU ones

It's funny that during and after the Oregon game, people were talking this Indiana team up as an all timer.

Now, we've got them at 9th best in the past decade.

Are they just saying what they think the spreads would be?

Like 2024 OSU would be favored over 2021 UGA?

I'm not as high on those GA teams as others are. I would put those Clemson squads and 2020 Bama over them. JMHO

2020 Alabama is really hard for me to gauge just because of the way that season went. I could see them anywhere from 2 to 9.
Alabama was kind of uniquely not hard to gauge.

It’s not like they were a flash in the pan in a weird year.

You saw them in 2019 with a Tua who could barely walk.

The Clemson 2018 disrespect is crazy. That team was stacked.
