Given it’s Betmgm, I’m guessing this is from a “neutral field favorability” lens, and maybe it’s accurate if so (although I’m honestly not even sure about that).

But from a “best/most impressive season” perspective, IU’s season was, way higher than 9th.

I would put Indiana up there with LSU, maybe ahead of them because they were flawless for 16 games against much tougher competition, especially in the playoffs.

Respectfully, what tougher competition?

The 2020 season/results should be thrown to the wind. Illegitimate on numerous grounds.

Didn't Bama not have a player fail a Covid test all year? Crazy

I'm not as high on those GA teams as others are

i wanna ask why but i almost guarantee you're gonna pretend that stetson bennett wasn't as good as he was.

Do you agree or disagree with this list?

Did ESPN write that list?

Maybe in 10 years people will say, you know, now that I think about it...Indiana was pretty good for a basketball school.

This list is pre-nil bias claptrap, living in the not-so-distant past. CFB pundits are still stuck in their traditional biases.

2020 Alabama played in empty stadiums against teams decimated by opt outs, please

What's that got to do with who Bama had on that team? 6/11 offensive starters were first round picks. The defense had Will Anderson and Pat Surtain among others.

Who at full strength on the schedule was beating them?

To confirm, they are a great team. I'm just comparing them with other great teams that I think are a bit stronger. For example, Ohio St was going up and down the field on your defense. And I'll argue that 2020 Bama was a far superior offense.

All the teams prior to 2020 should be ranked higher than the teams after.

And really, 24 (LSU took a knee with a minute to go on the Clemson 2).

2024 Ohio state is the worst of the last 10 years.

Similar to Miami they arguably shouldn't have even been in after losing to an absolutely dogshit Michigan team and just went on a run. They're the equivalent of the shabazz Napier UConn team

LSU is one

UGA/Bama/IU are probably interchangeable. Bama of 19 was like a 10% worse 2019 LSU

People underrate how good those Clemson teams were as well

Except they boat raced everyone, having the best stretch of wins in history.

I can only assume by 24 OSU at #3 that this is a betting lines metric.

I have very little confidence in my own list lol. Best I can do is a bunch of ties. The tied teams aren’t ranked within a tie (otherwise they’d just be 1-10), they’re just in order from oldest to newest. This is what I’ve got:

1. 2019 LSU
2a. 2018 Clemson
2b. 2020 Alabama
2c. 2022 Georgia
5a. 2021 Georgia
5b. 2024 Ohio State
5c. 2025 Indiana
8a. 2016 Clemson
8b. 2017 Alabama
10. 2023 Michigan

I do think 2019 LSU is the uncontested GOAT. My various “2s” are teams that should be in all-time great discussion but aren’t 2019 LSU. Then there’s the Hall of Very Good, the Hall of Good, and 2023 Michigan in the Hall of “Yep, They Sure Did Win A Title Somehow”

1. 2019 LSU
2. 2018 Clemson
3. 2020 Alabama
4. 2022 Georgia
5. 2016 Clemson
6. 2021 Georgia
7. 2017 Alabama
8. 2025 Indiana
9. 2024 Ohio State
10. 2023 Michigan

2018 Clemson vs 2020 Alabama and 2016 Clemson vs either Georgia team would have been quite exciting games.
