lol, Lebron would not make it in the nfl.

And no one knows who the best athlete ever is, but the best current athlete in the world is Ashton Eaton.....and that's not even debatable

Bo was the best athlete this planet has ever seen. If you saw him play you would know/agree.

Saw him play, and know/disagree.

This board sucks Bo off like no other.

OBJECTIVE FIGURES:
Bo: 1 time all star in both sports, 0 MVP's.
Lebron: 9 time all star, 4 MVP's.

Bo in baseball: career .250 BA, 4.5:1 strikeout to walk, 112 OPS+ (which puts him just behind Brad Hawpe, Jason Kubel, Adam LaRoche, and Ryan Ludwick). Yeah but he had a higher peak right? His best season was 1990 with 28 HR/15 SB/.272 BA/ 142 OPS+. To put that in context, last year Andrew Mccutchen had 31/20/.327/163 and BLEW Bo's best season out of the water yet only got 1 vote for MVP.

Bo averaged 73.2 yards per game with his best being 86.4 in 1989 which put him 4th in that year. 4th. We're arguing that he was one of the best football players of all time and he never led the league in yards per carry or yards per game.

My point in the conversation with my friend was the same point that the documentary made: it was about the LEGEND of Bo Jackson. I'm not saying he wasn't a freak with some amazing plays. I've seen the videos which are AMAZING, but after I looked at the video's I went and looked at the numbers too and was surprised that they weren't more world beating. Lebron right now is one of the 10 greatest basketball players ever in most people's books which Bo can say about neither sport. Oh, and he's still getting better.

This thread has been discussed before. Don't use the word "ever" or you have to look at athletes who lived before 1987.

About the non major sport athletes that's a fair point-- I wasn't really trying to consider all athlete's ever, just trying to make a comparison among the major sports in the modern era.

Bo is a better athlete

quote:

1) I think he could be an an all pro in the NFL

Why do so many people say this? Lebron can shoot a basketball so he would make an 'All Pro' NFL player???

There's no sport he couldn't pick up and kick arse. Shot an 89 the first time he played a round of 18.
