It's so hard to tell who is just happy being a tiger and attending LSU vs. who wants more.
Looking at the depth chart, obviously, Nuss is possible. I hope we don't lose a guy like Bech, Guillory, Sage, or Hilton... all guys with Louisiana roots, but also guys who might think they can shine somewhere else.
I wonder if a guy like Raydar Jones gets recruited over again and leaves. Dumervil might want to look too-- don't want to be lacking more than a two-deep at OL with injuries popping up. Both would be disappointing.
I feel like there's sure to be one surprise.

Lol I’m not talking about public policy! I’m talking about stupid, sensitive conservatives to make the rest of us look stupid. I expect liberals to be loud and stupid… so when they are, it’s all aligned.
I’d like to think that conservatives should be above being loud and stupid. We should be too good for that. And we used to be. Used to laugh at liberals who were so triggered and soft. And now the most vocal conservatives are just as triggered and soft. God help you if you’re triggered by other people wearing a mask as if you’ve been wronged.

Some of you are as obsessed with being anti Covid as they are with actual Covid. Can’t we see how it’s the same thing but the other way?
How about this: if we want to get more normal, anti-covid people need to start by stopping thinking about how harmed you are 24/7.
I wish could go back to the OT being useless, entertaining posts.

Can’t you just not wear your mask and shut the frick up? If they want to do it, let em. How mentally fragile do you have to be to get so upended by the decisions of others that you come waste our time? Sensitive conservatives are just the same as sensitive “libs”.

I agree, if he doesn't want it I don't particularly care why-- don't get it. He doesn't HAVE to get it, but he also doesn't HAVE to play basketball. Is he so opposed that he will quit? If so, then do it. Who cares?
I'm all for freedom, but I also think it's silly for people to think that their actions and decisions don't have consequences. If you choose to be unvaxxed then you also must live with the fact that you can't do things where it's required. If you can't go see a game, get on a plane, go to a certain restaurant, or go inside in New York or California to play basketball... You knew what the result would be, you made the decision, you chose to so live with it.
From a basketball side it will be insane if he can't practice with the team in Brooklyn but still plays with them on the road? Or do they intentionally practice more when on the road? Does his full salary count against the cap or can they get cap space? Would they trade him to a team where he could play? How much would it hurt his trade value that there are certain venues he can't play in. Honestly... it would be pretty entertaining.

Give me a break... some of you guys talk so much crap about how sensitive people of color are then turn around and are JUST as sensitive. And the worst part is you're soft just for the sake of being soft. Even if I don't agree with some of BLM I can at least understand where they're coming from. But this thread is full of people who are so desperate to try to show how culture is oppressing white people. It's just crying "look at me, I'm oppressed too!!!!" Get real... New offer for BB Knight 2022, AAU Houston Hoops HS: Katy Tompkins (Tx). I helped coach the kid his freshman and soph year. He's the meaning of a pure shooter. When shooting on air he's consistently 70%+ from the HS 3 point line and shot 41% from 3 as a junior. He's been lighting up the summer circuits and the offers are rolling in. He's got a very good basketball sense and will continue to mature as his level rises, is a coach's son, has a long wingspan, and has impressive bounce which is only increasing as he grows. The kid really loves to hoop and has an impressive work ethic for the game. Best thing about him is that he's a really good kid and his teachers love having him in class.
re: Getting large lump sum invested
Posted by cajunfury87 on 11/19/20 at 11:02 pm to geauxpurple
The above opinions that state that technically lump sum is better are correct (except it can be hard on the psyche).
If the market generally goes up 7% per year then every day you should go up 7%/365. So by dollar cost averaging you give up time in the market (the old saying “time in the market is more important than timing the market”).
Just to use easy numbers $1000x1.07^30 = $7612 whereas 29 years is $7114.
The people who say DCA are correct if there is a pullback, but DCA is a form of timing by the market/predicting. If you’re right, great, if you’re wrong, ok. If you buy today and it goes down 10%, it’ll come back up in 2-3 months very likely.
The biggest thing is to come up with a plan and hold to it. If you DCA you’re leaving a little on the table, but the only way you truly lose is if you let your $1000 stay $1000 instead of becoming $7000+.

milroe is a stud, great kid too, BAMA got a good one, probably a WR in college
Milroe is absolutely a stud and a great kid. He really likes to work, and he’s a look you in the eye kind of kid which I really like. I think his biggest question going forward is how can he read a field when working through a progression. Tompkins is so run heavy (even with Milroe) that he’s throwing to pretty open guys a lot and doesn’t have to move his eyes. I like that he is a great runner, but he’d rather be mobile in the pocket and keeps his eyes downfield. There is a chance it might not translate, but there is for any kid. The only thing I disagree with is I have no idea where the WR move comes from. He’s got an absolute cannon for an arm which will never hold him back. I don’t see that coming. Bama is a good spot for him because he can sit, learn the system, and progress his reads. If he had ended up at Texas I wonder if they might have thrown him to the fire when ehlinger leaves.

What do you know about Jace Laviolette? LSU baseball commit.
Jace is a really good kid. When you see him in person he’s HUGE, and I haven’t seen him since March. At that point I’d guess he was like 6-2, 230? He joked that he was squatting 450 as a freshman... but he wasn’t joking. He’s pretty smart and very charming— a great kid. I’ll be interest to see how he continues to physically develop.
As for his talent the LSU offer speaks for itself. I haven’t seen him play, but I can imagine he’s got light tower power.

In my experience the has the dive 99% of the time meaning the man headed downhill (could be a RB, could be a QB). It could be a game plan piece to have a call to exchange responsibilities to mess up reads.
It’s hard to tell without knowing the call and being able to see the field. Everybody has a trips check. Most people bump linebackers (which we did), some roll the safeties. The corner at the top looks like man, but Clark looks like he’s trying to wall the crossing route? Not 100% sure. We should have 4 over their 3 there though so it’s covered. On defense a 3 yard gain is acceptable for me. 2nd and 7, 3rd and 4, get off the field.
On the other side of the field imagine if 8 hadn’t forced the pull. We don’t have an OLB out there anymore, so if the DE spills the first puller, the second puller takes the ILB if he flows over the top or safety, and it’s one on one in space at best.

It’s important to realize how the defense is supposed to defend each play and their responsibility. I’m a former Texas HS coach who ran a 4-3, so heres what I see from a base 4-3 from these gifs:
1) you’re correct— 11 gets driven, 18 overpursues to try to cover him. Hell of a play by 97 to run flat down the line in his gap and make a play. Stingley loaf.
2) not 8’s fault at all. He gets a down block, gets hands on and squeezes the down block with his eyes up and shoulders square, perfect technique. He’s responsible for the dive, LBs have to flow. 19 gets murdered. Based on the alignment we can see there should be a safety running downhill which appears to be 31 at the very end of the play. Where was that guy? He’s the “alley” player.
3) I think this is actually a solid defensive play against a really tough scheme. 8 has to fight down the line with the puller in front of him. He’s in charge of the dive player usually, so he seems to be correct. 18 sees the read and stays outside despite the read from the double pullers, even fighting off a blocker to do it. Again the safeties are a bit slow.
4) this is bad by a lot of guys against simple outside zone. First thing to notice is the blitzing safety on the back side. At least the DL on his side should be stunting toward the run. 8 has him point blank and doesn’t make the play. 19 has no excuse. He’s watching the motion instead of his keys and takes a false step which kills him. With a blitzing safety over there this is inexcusable. Even then, make the freaking play. 92 runs up field creating vertical seems in the defense. Again, where is the safety 31?
5) double pullers where nobody attacks the pullers. It depends on how it’s coached with the slot back as to who should (if he's considered a TE). 19 is very timid. Biggest issue for me is 18 has double pullers and just sits there. Backside Lb has to go when you see that! You can’t defend a pulling scheme without following the pullers because they’re creating new gaps and he’s sitting in gaps that don’t exist anymore. And he doesn’t attack the block. Bad.
6) clearly a stunt in here sending 3 upfield exchanging inside responsibility to 19. 19 is out of control— if he hits the puller the play is dead. But the worst is 18. He gets double puller away from him and still follows the sweep. Between 11 and 7 that’s covered. He knows he’s wrong too— look at his reaction.
7) part of how you play zone is that you disrupt the timing of the offense. 18 sees him coming the whole way and just gets beat. 19 is usually playing what’s called a wall technique where your job is to bang the receiver to slow him down. It got on 18 too quick, although if he was faster he could have covered it.
8) 18 has to trigger! Double pullers (turns out the second puller is the new ball carrier) means you have to go, especially when 19 bumps him last second. To me this is on 8. He runs straight up field, doesn’t get hands on the down block which would have led him to the puller and killed the play.
I’ll leave 9 and 10. I remember watching the game it seemed over and over that the effort was just bad away from the play and sometimes where the play was happening. Defense is about effort which covers mistakes. From a scheme POV the DE’s have to attack pullers, and the LB have to flow with the pullers to their new gaps.

Katy Taylor has for years. Two years ago they had senior Andrew Coker who ended up at TCU and sophs Bryce Foster and Hayden Connor... 3 big time d1 OL. Coker couldn't move as a young kid and played freshman football as a freshman, but Foster and Connor played Varsity 6A as a freshman.
Oh and DE Brandon Mowry who ended up at Tamu.

The kid's not coming to LSU. 247 predicts OU, if I had to guess it's Bama. He isn't an angel by any means, but considering how some of these kids are I don't think he's a big character risk. It'll be good for him to be around people of like ability day in and day out at IMG and eventually in college.
Tompkins also has Jalen Milroe who is currently committed to Texas. With all the uncertainty over there certainly good to keep the line of contact open.

current payout scheme with 7 players (looking for 8 or 10).
1st-105, 2nd-75, 3rd-60, 4th-50, 5th-35, 6th-25, last-0
I tried to create a bigger gap between 1st and 2nd to reward the winner, and a bigger gap between 6th and last to keep the bottom player trying. I hate nothing more than when in a big game the guy you need to lose fades somebody who doesn’t care enough to set a roster.

Salary capped fantasy league
Posted by cajunfury87 on 8/24/19 at 7:46 am
I’m looking for 1-3 players who are interested in a league where we use the players real salaries and each team will have a real salary cap. For example if you drafted Stanford and his 29 million cap hit and have a. 75 mil budget, you’d have 46 for the rest of your team. Number of player slots and cap will be determined by the number of teams, but I’m trying to make it to where it should be a little less than a standard league depth wise considering expensive players will likely be on the wire. Includes an OP slot which can be QB.
Buy in is $50, and I’m trying to pay out every slot except last (second to last gets $15 or something) to encourage teams to play until the end.
If you’re interested email me atmjcopeland1@gmail.com
